e36 325i

hi all well here is my story been on here a while but havent really had the funds to drift properly and go to events. And this is because i have been doing a lot of track days in my evo. Now 2 weeks ago i went to oulton park for a drift day so i tock the evo and i must admit it was the nuts had a real laugh but it was hard work obviously being 4wd and having ayc etc so i got home then spent a few days trawling through ebay piston heads trying to find a cheap drifter now originally i wanted jap ie s13 silvia etc but it had to be cheap and all the s13 needed work.I was also looking on here but the cheap ones dont hang around. Eventually on egay i found a BMW 325I COUPE i thought it had to be worth a bid so i stuck a bid of 500 quid and i won it so here are some pics it has 4 month mot full service history 120 thou miles

well there she is seen as its going to be my daily drive i have a few plans for it

1.strip out interior/ fit buckets harness
2.fit decent steering wheel
3.sit it on its arse as low as poss

then go to a few dwyb days see how the car reacts then more work.

if any one knows any things about e36s like common problems whats the best things to change please let me know

cheers lee

Nice one dude , get the interior on the bay , sell the cat's to a scrappy and you'll have earnt half the price for the car back.

plenty of things to recommend , listed in order.

1. weld diff
2. subframe reinforcements
3. lower it
4. more rubber
5. seat and straps
6. more practise days

Fuck that, get a bucket seat, weld the diff and spend the rest of the money on tyres, rims and practice days. (Basically the opposite of what I've done this year )

Then start working out of you want it stripped, slammed etc etc. If you can drift it with full leather in there, leave it IMO. Who doesn't like full leather
N

Nice starting point though, and a good price too

Try and get your hands on a set of cams from a us spec e36 m3 they will fit straight in and should free up a nice bit of power .

i've got a new water pump! ( still not been fiited mind, )
from what i was told it's best to replace it, as the plastic impeller gives up after a few drift days.

which coilovers have you ordered??

hi james theres a set on egay made by a company called hottunning dont know about the quality but i suppose if its certificated then it should be fine and they sell at 215 quid and thats full coilover kit adjusts from 20mm to 120mm now i think that will be low enough also comes with a 2 year warrenty im sure we will see

Yes i was going to change the water pump also what do you think about fitting a second rad fan and also raise the back off the bonnet

cheers lee

i wouldn't rise the bonnet, looks well too gay and it won't really do much! just open the bonnet when not driving, and i've been to 2 drift days now and mine hasn't overheated once, but u could put a second rad in if u want.

u got the coilovers yet?

Looks like it should be fun

Get it lowered, weld the diff up, fit some powerflex eccentric front wishbone bushes to add some more caster and as thats an early 325 coupe weld the reinforcement plates in on the subframe mounts! Even my 1996 328i Sport ripped the subframe out so be careful!
