| Trampdrift fo life M30 crew Right Ive been hunting for a Tramp priced one of these for a long time now and a lucky ad on e30 zone came up trumps. Gots me a e34 535i manual for £200. ![]() Its not taxed or mot'd but it is a runner and has had a recent clutch, has 4 green service lights too lol. ![]() ![]() Turned up and the owner had given it a hose off to remove 2 years of shit and attempted to charge the battery, although that turned out to be a lost cause. Got her going with some jump cables, fired up first time and sounded fine (although was a little concerned at the owners urge to rev her right up lol). Handed over my £200 and off we went. I only live a few miles up the road so I decided to risk the journey via the back lanes looked at the OBC and it said 51 miles of fuel left, shan't be believing that again  lolGot half up the hills and ran out so had to do a booter back to town to get a can. One can later and still no joy after an age of turning over, so back for another. This time, 2 gallons/£13 later and she fires up. Now we are cooking with gas. She has a few issues, main one being charging and a couple bushes knocking at the rear but overall she drove lovely and pulled very well, steering was tighter than my well sorted 96 328i sport 8O . Plans are to tick the TD boxes of car modifying, strip / slam / weld / bucket. I am a little unsure if it has a lsd, I was reluctant to give it to much shit til it had at least got home as Ive got a bad record with picking up cars, but I dropped the boot out of a junction and it shifted its fat arse over in a drifty type way until the camber changed then it gayed out and span a wheel. Quite symptamtic of a worn BM lsd but could of just been a lucky launch on an open diff. Either way I forgot how cool M30s are for smoking up tyres until tonight ![]() Dont expect my project thread to move along quickly as Im a lazy bastard with no money but I hope this to become my sole drifter soon. |

| As above! well done mate, luxo barges are always gangsta to see going sideways. Sounds a right bargain, cheapest I ever found a decent 5 series for was £500 (road legal mind) don't know why I neveer bought that... too much of a JDM fan-boy I guess! |

| Still undecided. I do want to start using it, that is why I bought it after all but I got wheels ready for the 36 which wont fit on the 34, I want practice in the 36 now its finished before Ultimate BMW and I blew the water pump out the 34 today (taking the PS and fan belt with it lol). Not a big job just dunno if Ill get it done in time. Sorted charging on her now and replaced a kinked fuel hose and she goes real well, did a few skids, defo a open diff. Easier to weld I guess ![]() |

| Spent what little free time I had on thursday and friday fitting a new water pump and fan/ps belts then bleeding it. Eventually got it bled and not overheating in the morning just before setting off for TDSW. No time for cutting springs or welding diff so I had to go out with full barge spec motoring, although I have stripped out some of the interior, still quite a lot to go though. ![]() During my first couple of runs I soon realised this was the only car I have ever driven that could manage to understeer halfway through a large oversteer  It was unusual to say the least as it would do it whilst almost on the lock, fully pinned all going well then, , gay wafty understeer. After a little while I realised I could hold the angle of drift all round the track without understeering if I kept the front wheels almost straight, bit like a 4wd drift. This meant the car could under and over together in some sort of drifty balance. Anyway regardless of its handling, and my driving failings I, and my mate who used it all day with me, loved it. Its so nice to have something that Im not scared of bashing and just really give it full attack. It took a whole days abuse and had a few little crashu's and still drove home like the executive limo that it is. Next on the list is big spring cuttage, weld diff (I imagine this would help no end with stopping understeer mid drift), strip more, look for 2nd hand hard shocks and see if I can pikey a double arb to the rear. | I don't know if you noticed when you weren't driving it, but halfway through a corner, it would stop spinning one of the wheels, I can only imagine that's due to weightshift over one wheel or something. You both gave it some real stick though, seemed to go pretty well once it was going. You need to post up a picture of the back end absolutely covered in cow shit though ![]() |

Open diff Im guessing is the root of all problems/evil/gay tendencies. Once welded it wont be able to stop spinning on wheel. Changed the pic for a better one too /\/\/\ ![]() | |

| Fitted a bucket seat and dished omp wheel for Brawdy as well as doing an oil change. Basically spent days and dollars getting her ready for the biggest weekend of the year. Got there and did this lol. ![]() ![]() That was the "Touge" course they have there which is like a single lane back road with shrubbery edges. Flat out 2nd to 3rd gear to link it with balls or no care for your car needed to master, I had the latter lol. Managed to do 2 runs completely linked which, for those who have driven it will understand, I was dead proud of. Dragged it out (btw I crashed 2 feet from where MJG put his last year, the damage to the scenery is still there lol) and continued on with 100mph runway manjis that Brawdy provides. Unfortunately the big 5 lunched its gearbox and engine by the end of day 1, was running on 4, chuffing out black smoke and knocking its head off and I had bent some stuff whilst crashu so I didnt do the 2nd day. I sold the 5 to some Dude in wales and came home with an empty trailer. |

| It always amuses when you see a drifty BMW to think that 20 years ago it was the pinnacle of some middle management types achievement, and then they end up like this ![]() Gutted that its broked, but glad you got some fun out of it though! |
