Shiiiiiite what a build thread - took me ages to read through lol

Awesome build and loving the car mate can't wait to see you at a practice day at the pod shot gun passenger seat!

Also glad I'm not the only one who has lock rubbing issues with rx7's lol

Keep up the good work and you know where I am if you need any help

hmmm ncie find.. ive just read though it and it kiiinda skimms the bit i need about LCA issues as i have a differnt style of modified knuckle..

that said.. it does mention grinding out the spindle for more camber.. so i think ill try that.

I did the hammering part and spraying part tongiht as it happens lol. o,0

then i began to grind the lower arm...

then started to investigate other ways of doing it...

camber / caster/ extending lower arms.. requested help here:
Gaining as much camber as possible....

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Now it makes more sense!!! My S5 ones are different to series 4 ones and include the extra bit... i saw this extra bit modified on an american forum..

And could not see it on mine..

I wonder If series 4 arms fit my series5.. that way we can create adjustable bits or at least extendable bits..

something makes me nervous welding in that general area (the knuckle mod and the lower control arm mod) But yes, thats the idea i'm getting at. Except my idea extends on fixing the lower arm geometry when the car is slammed.

LCA's are interchangable.

very quick update due to tiredness /sun stroke and other bits n bobs..

the weekend happened. and FOOOOK MEE what a weekend.

Friday night/saturday:

Continued to battle on with the lock/clearance issues..
more bashy bashy then resprayed (in order to see where it rubs once used again)

removed washer bottle for space while hammering.. then resprayed red bits missed the first time:

then finally more bashy bashy on the other sidew

I did do other smalelr bits.. tidy up wires in bay, sort bits in the cabin etc but nowt post worthy..

Sunday ( EDC round 3 & BDC trade stand @ JTS Show )

car made it to the BDC stand and got ALOT of attention. It was great to see and really helped me with motivation to keep plowing money and time into getting the car to the level I want it.

A few pics fromt he stand and randome antics..
SHINEY VOODOO ENGINE:

Stand shots:

Misc EDC paddock and area pics:

Then it all changed plan...

Peter Barber decided he didnt like 3rd gear in his Hayward Rotarys sponsored FD.. and deciding to detonate it on a PARADE lap. Well done you sir...

SO the Team green FC came to the rescue for the rest of his event..

I litteraly dumped all the gear out the car.. DROVE it to the startline.. Stiggy and Mr Barber Senior filled it with fuel.. peter got in.. I adjusted his seat position in it and that was it!!!... off he went to Twin in my FC! nop practice no warm up nothing!

This also meant he was driving on my 225/45/17 ROAD TYRES, and running in the EDC with FULL BDC LIVERY for top 16! at unknown pressures. or grip levels.. a gravel trip waiting to happen if there ever was one

need less to say Peter made it thought top 16..

He then came into pits and we had to put on the EDC Livery and his own wheels ...

then make top 8 as well
then TOP FOUR

unfortunately loosing out to brett castle ONLY because he went for his normal handbrake position and reaised it wasnt there and straightened up lol..

He did however beat Stuart in the consolation finals to take third place overall!!!!

Congrats to you peter.
and thank you for making me recieve 400000000000000000000 people saying 'see you car can do it, no excuse now!' over and over and over and over..

you owe me a pint.

So to round that off:

See, the car can do it. What's going on?

It's looking sweet dude, hoping people have got some video of Mr Barber ripping it up.

im surprised you felt the setup was ok.. i did the front toe by eye and have NO rear camber adjustement.. but you found the latter bit out when you removed the tyres lol

As i said dude, no worries about loaning it.. ive let a multitude of people drive my cars.. just in the hopes i'll get offered the same if i ever need it. were all a family at the end of the day. and we needed you to get soem points on the board to battle for the rotary EDC win.

and Ill settle for 1 pint and a bit of tuition Pete.. lol

deal mate, oh and of course on the car loaning score, i mean i did lend it chunk after all

also you'll get there mate, everyone just needs to be reminded that rotories are very hard to get used too with the lack of engine braking and the seating position in the fc / fd ie sat on the back axle

aye... im not too bothered about peoples view on my driving.. i just need to sort a final few setup details then finally spend money on seat time.. and lots of it. But tuition is hard to get some times... you end up practicing bad habits.. and therefor not learning anything or progressing if you get me.

After all the days stresses and the heat etc.. i think by the end of it i was just gettin really short tempered lol. The Team green lot never stop the banter. they have yet to find 'the line'..

..usually because they too far past it to see it back behind htem.
