um.. pass. i have no idea.. just know that we had wheel dead straight.. the trackarms touching the rod ends (ie no way to go shorter) and both were toeing out slightyl.. one more than the other.. in a big way.

My local mate and budding skidder is trying to come to norfolk friday night and bring my road tyres and a spare set if its needed...

..but with rain forecast.. not sure ill need em..

SHIT..
jsut thought if it rains.. that means the windows gonna mist up and I currently have no Blowers... im screwed. I should just not come to norfolk!

Stop flapping - who said anything about charging you for tyres?

Oh and you pretty much drive past my house on the way to No-fuck remember?

lol im not flapping.. thinkin out loud..

however last night was rather unsuccessful over all.. but did have some minor progress...

- spare(road) wheels finally keyed up and sprayed white to match others as they will be used on track.
- center console switched proeprly wired up (looped / connectors shrink wrapped)
- more wiring tidying..

hell yeah dude.. look forward to seein that. been wanting to see that sideways since i set eyes on it.

another late.. crazy night.

still no boost gauge success.. but more minor wins.. switch panel pretty much finished off.. with new uprated main live/earth to the switch loops.. and to power the new strobes setup too without overpowering the system..

-uprated the front headlight bulbs and cleaned up some of the wiring in engine bay. (passengerside looks a proper mess of senders though lol )
(god wish i had pics atm)

sold enough on ebay to afford ONE set of tyres lol .. will be used for saturday practice and qualifying..

.. ran out of time.

with all the car to put back to gether, tyres to get swapped, car to pack.. im not sure if i will get to norfolk thursday night, need to see latest i can arrive.

this thread makes me want an fc soo bad . I got one question with the lockmods though. Let's say I'm just starting drifting and don't want to do competitions and shit would the lock spacers give me enough lock for that or would it still suck balls ?

with teh DW lock spacers.. you will still suffer slightly, but if your only starting out and have nothing to compare it with.. then the differnce wont be as clear initially.

my advice is to get the mazdatrix steering angle kit (rose joints/spacers and bits all included).. and just go with that for a while...

maximum lock before purchasing track rods or going for the Hub modification..

Dude, what size/type tyres do you run? If you're really desperate for another set I can probably spot you a pair. I'll need to double check what I've got but it might not be an issue at all. If I can I wouldn't need anything for them until... well, until you can sort something out actually.

but then on friday night i have a mate coming up in a van.. yes for the first time EVER in 2 seasons skidding.. i have a support vehicle. It's filled with part worns, 1 set of new federals and my go-home-legal tyres. Oh and a gearbox and some randome parts/hoses/fluids. woot!

someone said about using washing up liquid on the inside...

no idea if it will work but at least the cabin will be lemony-fresh! PMSL

Last-minute-panic.com

Power steering belt is completely fryer-tucked.. seems my intercooler pipework has been rubbing on the belt! its about 40% worn through!! Have a mate ordering in belts now. just have to PRAY they fit. or i'm owned.

on the plus side.. i have the mrs loading the car up while im at work, or at least prepping stuff to go in... so assuming the belt swap is easy we should be on our way to webbed-feet town pretty promptly.

eta 10.30-11pm

havent updated this properly for some time now... i will get round to it but unfortunately trying to sort alot of other stuff out.

Car unfortunately had some issues at BDC round 4... power steering/steering rack and cooling problems mainly, but also poped some hosing during team event meaning me n brad.. erm.. hit.

damage seems only superficial and light.. but cars arse might be slightly 'off' now lol.

Car is now being worked on at Hayward Rotaries to try and sort as much as they can before wales.

as well as all the above, a gearbox swap MUST be done. (im goin for some smokes ) and we have solid mounts to do for drive train (engine,GB,diff) and the key thing for llandow...

LOCK

my lock fouling the lower arms and sticking is what caused me nightmares at round 2 in llandow. Wont let it happen again.
