So the front end is now nearly ready. With new hub bearings, tophats, and drop links it should feel super pointy

I had a few problems with the fuel rail stays for the Jenvey ITBs today. I got the new o-rings for the injectors and tried offering it all up and the stays are too short.

Jenvey have now sent me the 'correct' ones 3 times and they've been wrong hopefully next time they will get the correct ones out to me. There is absolutely no chance these are for the s2000 injectors - it even says for pico-style injectors on the bag LOL.

Got the throttle linkage bits too now so the intake is all sorted bar the air filter and the vacuum system (which is on its way from Golden Eagle Manufacturing and should be here in a week or so.

I am trying to figure out where is the best place to tap the manifold at the moment for the vacuum lines. The new manifold has blanks where the std injectors would sit at the back of the inlet manifold close to the ports on the head - I'm wondering if this is a good place to tap in the vac nipples ? Anyone comment ?

I was meant to get a photo of the new manifold today I didnt hopefully I will see it in the flesh very soon.

they are all setup for pico injectors, so just make your own mounts.........hell, use the stock fuel rail its tidier than the piece they give you, i never use the jenvey fuel rails.

Underneath the manifold you will find nipples with the centres dimpled so you can centre a drill bit for tapping, just use that, its tidy and out the way.

Cheers Mr B.

I dont recall seeing any dimples in the casting - I'll check next time I go see the car. Got to tap the blank for the temp sensor that sits at the back of the manifold too.

Good news today

Michael over at Gunt in IRL sent me over some pictures of the manifold getting its finishing touches in the jig. Fingers (and everything else) crossed we should have it early next week.

I really really hope we get it as we'll finally be able to start bolting up all these boxes of bits to the ol' rolla and it may start to resemble something like a bloody car again for the first time in about 16 months.

Anyways - here it is.

fingers crossed.

Of course you do brother - its the only 'true' way to tell if its running properly. I am still concerned its toyota and honda genes will be at war with each other - you can give it some spiritual healing

slowly....but surely I keep telling myself.

Not much on at the moment other than doing some of the tedious stuff. Whilst the car is stripped back this far it gives me a chance to clean up some of the parts like the fuel tank, filler neck, straps, brackets etc etc. My car will be used - its no show car but at least it helps to protect things for the next few years of its life.

At the moment I've been busy cleaning and re-paintin the tank - thats all sorted now so just the straps and stuff to do and thats ready to go back on the car. I've got to get a new fuel pump mounting plate sorted out for the tank as I need -6 fittings directly from that to my lines. NMS should be able to sort that out for me.

Also stripped the pedal box last night so I can clean it all up, paint and re-grease all the moving parts etc. That will probably be tonights job.

I figure the more of this stuff I can do now means it should speed up things come reassembly time as it will will be just bolting stuff back up.

Had a few more issues with my Jenvey ITBS - unfortunatley the bodies themselves have had to be sent back to jenvey to have the injector pockets slightly machined. Should be back next week. Once they are back I'll test build the inlet side of the engine so that I can sort out my throttle cable and also cut the carbon airbox back so its ready to have the filter fitted.

Have you done any wiringa s of yet I would think that the harness could be mostly completed in the time you are waiting for header and other bits

Shit John, you made my day.

I'm pretty sure I'll be loving that much power - I guess you dont have to be quite so committed at initiation now as you can easily get the speed back mid-bend without smashing the shit out of the clutch.

I cant wait - thankyou buddy.

Lazy Saturday.

Finished cleaning up all the pedal box, bumper brackets, tank straps etc. I guess this kinda stuff isn't too important but I dont intend stripping the car back this far again for quite a long time.

So I improvised me a washing line in the garage

I hung all my shitty bits of old toyota on the line like washing and blasted them with silver hammerite.

Not perfect - but less likely to rust in our crap weather.

I've been struggling to find my brake booster and master cylinder - I hope I didnt sell it to one of the brotherhood by mistake LOL - its probably over at NMS (or so I'm hoping)

about 0.0014% closer - but at least its the right direction LOL.

Had a few more issues getting the exhaust but I've been toldl it really has shipped now and to expect it next week. I sure hope so.

Hope shes ready for Semptember - I have a trackday at croft with the RS mob and my brother is trying to get me to do an event at Chatsworth house. They have a closed off tarmac stage you can run your road car on that they refer to as 'Stage Sessions'. I remember going to watch grp b cars there as a nipper - it will be awesome to get to drive there myself 20 years later. Would be great to get a bunch of us up at that event

heheheh,

got my throttle bodies back from Jenvey today

injectors now fit a treat the injector pockets were reamed out and the lower o-rings were changed from 4mm high square shoulder to 1mm. Top o-rings were replaced with thicker ones. Std pico fuel rail brackets can now also be used. This has not rendered the ITBS only useable for the stock injectors - regular Pico or Bosch can still be used.

So - I couldn't resist temptation to quickly assemble them to make sure the rail fitted properly. I think I have the fuel rail on backwards (the longer end needs to be where the TPS is) anyways - tOOt tOOt !!!

Got a phonecall from NMS today... so I sat down real fast as I didnt want to faint. I figured they were gonna tell me my exhaust had arrived - I was wrong LOL
