Cheers Mr Jord...prob catch you in an ol' K1 armchair skidding session sometime soon. Been flat out busy the last few weeks.

Few things to report - no pictures as of yet but there will be soon

The Toyonda shitboxolla is down at RS along with boxes full of shiny precious offerings of peace - some to be welded on - some to be test fitted to check for positioning. I did a big smile wading through them all - its exciting knowing they will become one.

Russell sent a man in a van to Brother Betty's house and stole the roof skin without a sunroof that he just happed to cut from a sick shell - just in case - muchos love to the brother. Another poor corolla died to make mine.

Russel and Shane are an eager pair so they removed the screen and rear quarter windows, dropped the sunroof caririer out of the roof (this was described as weighing 'shit loads' LOL) un-stitched the roof from the A/B/C pillars and cut it off LOL...poor car.

The X-member is back out of the car again and the engine and box are becoming friends with it.

Came as good news to me - cant wait to find out more.

Dang - my brain hurts today.

I think my head was in a curry at about 3:30am this morning after a very very messy works do last night.

Just had some photographs through from RS Fabrications My car is taking shape.

Cross Member

The TIG pumps out nice clean welds

Roof Skin.

The sunroof roof is now gone and has been replaced with this one. Its just sat on top at the moment because it makes getting the cage in the car much easier.

The engine is now on mock mounts back in the engine bay. I ran out of space on my mail account so I am still waiting the closer view on these LOL.

Really chuffed with the tidiness of everything. Its going to look a lot worse before it looks better but its well on its way

Ha! you bast**d!
thats not fair.

I take it the boys have planted it on the chassis rails judging by the lack of meat on the x-member - I guess that just carries the rack now ?

Spoke to Russell at RS Fabrications this morning

Bit more progress...

1. The engine and gearbox are now mounted in their final positions in the shell on the newly fabricated mounts. The engine is as far back in the shell as the steering rack will allow and bonnet shuts!. The main cross brace on the the floor (runs just behind the front seats) of the shell has not had to be cut.

2. The steering column has been modified (needed extending to take into account the x-member drop) and welded back together again and back on the car.

3. The main hoop of the new weld-in cage has been bent up from the template and the rest of the cage work will start tomorrow.

4. The engine and box will be coming back out of the car again so the firewall can have a bit more trimmed from it ready for the work on the new transmission tunnel to begin.

should have the pictures in a few days.

Sweet,

try and grab a quick shot or two Mat. I can wait to see it

As for the mk2. I think there are two of these now. The chap I know with the s2000 westi saw one whilst he was having his exhaust manifold done somewhere in wales - he said it looks savage. I think there is another (blue?) in IRL too.
