I've just converted this from M50 to S50B30 from a 3 Litre M3. I've done 16 miles since the conversion. This was done on a realistic budget, the stock manifold has been modified rather than buying a BTB one etc. The car is solid and has had all the structural rust removed and plated up, and the suspension setup is proper, its stiff and has loads of grip, great for drifting. The body is OK, a bit tatty in places but solid. Car looks cool! The engine is very quiet (especially for an S50) and seems to run well, starts on the key every time, solid enough idle, no smoke, never gets hot, makes all the right noises, seems powerful and goes well. The engine mounts are very stiff and transmit some vibrations into the cabin but nothing too crazy, you dont really notice when driving.
The car has three problems:
The alternator is quite noisy (charges fine)
The car can bog down if the throttle is pumped lightly from idle. Its worse when cold. It doesnt really affect the driving, as its not often you pump the gas from idle under normal driving conditions.
The car is not far off being 100%.
A new exhaust system wouldnt be a bad idea if you wanted to get the most out of it, im not especially proud of the system on it, but it was just made to get the car driving. It has an E36 M3 center section with cats, and its modified to suit but a re-fresh would be a good idea. As it stands, it works and is quiet.
Im tired of building cars, i dont have the enthusiasm left to give it that final push.
£4000 Will part ex for ideally an E36 328i Sport or something interesting, Chaser, R32, try me?
The car will need picking up on a trailer as it has no tax or MOT

This is a good car, spent ages welding it for the previous MOT including, jacking points, rear spring perches and rear panel + replaced the tailgate, took the side skirts off for inspection and waxoiled the whole lot. As Paz mention she isn't concourse but is 100% solid, which is more than can be said for most of the polished turd e30's you see around.
With a s50 in on that diff ratio she will be a weapon and £4k for a almost finished S50 e30 is a absolute bargain. If I wasn't trying to finish my other e30 I would buy this back in a second.
Cheers Dave, properly loved the car with the M50 in it, was great ripping around in it with no worries lol. I should just use it now really but i dunno, as i say, i've ran a bit dry of enthusiasm.
Edit to say too, the diff is welded, not open as the ad used to say. lol. An S50 with an open diff would be useless lol.
Fuck i want this! Fancy an 260bhp E21, just needs a final push to finish it. haha
I'm in the same boat, can't be bothered rolling around on the floor fixing cars anymore either.
Someone buy him. Dont really fancy breaking him, it'd be a real shame.
9.17 BtG. Too slow.
You can has the engine and box for 1500? haha.
Bump, anyone? Real shame, its just sat on my drive doing nothing.
If someone would buy my car idve took this by now.
Damn man, this forum moves fast!
Cant believe this hasnt sold, such a capable car! And it rocks as its a touring.....
Usual case of much want and a total love of rolling around fixing old cars, however the common problem of not enough spare moniez.
Have a lame free bump
