Nope needed an ECU reset since battery went flat - it's now running ok since I've put some miles on it. I suggested that if he wants the car for pure road use then it could benefit from a tweek to the existing map since it occasionally stalls when slowing down at a junction. I can live with it but I wasn't sure if he could and I didn't want him coming all that way to pick the car up if he wasn't 100% with it. I'm being totally open here, anyone who wants to view can take it on an extended test drive - it is a modified car, just don't expect it to behave like something that is factory standard. Ideally I'd like to sell it to someone who'll develop it further as it's had loads of work done under my ownership and I'm selling it for peanuts relatively.

It's a common thing for JZX100's with an aftermarket bov to cut out the odd time when slowing down for a junction, so that shouldn't bother a potential buyer.

Just had the car remapped by Steve Sadler @ FC Tuning. First person with £5K takes it.

Cheers.

What power did it make and was the stall problem solved?

I've updated the original post with the power figures - it made 330 bhp since it's now running less boost (0.8 bar). Stalling issues appear to have been resolved but I haven't done enough driving in traffic to confirm this 100%. It certainly appears to be a lot more driveable below 2.5K RPM then before.

Be a shame to see that go, I hope the new owner takes good care of it.

Utterly ridicoulous giveaway price!!

vvti 1jz's are notoriously bad for stalling and low idle but its nothing to worry about tbh. Mine was the same after a remap but things improved after i tidied up the vacumn lines. The mid range grunt on these engines is second to none!!

In fact the time and effort on my jzx90 i should have just bought this

Again good luck with the sale

Cheers for the comments Matt

Just an update as an FYI for other JZX100 owners who experience the same stalling issues - boiled down to a dodgy VVTi solenoid as since we disconnected it the stalling has disappeared. It's fairly well documented on jzx100.com - just wish I'd read it before spunking 450 on a remap that wasn't needed !

Back on ebay after jump starting for the umpteenth time due to lack of use:

1996 JZX100 Toyota Mark 2 (Drift/Chaser) - NO RESERVE on eBay (end time 27-Jun-10 10:01:08 BST)

Will consider swap/px for a non-Jap car.
