exallent day, the battle axe touring ran awesome through out the whole day untill one of the rear bars snapped and left me strandard in front of the play pens lol
Had an awesome day, can't wait for the my 2nd dwyb![]()
Paula and I had a great day, many thanks to the people that came along at the end to check out the photos.
You can see a list of what's available here.
Ian.
was a awesome day only let down was the massively long ques for big track...and small opening 2 car gap at entry point causing a single file que back round to the exit and then a few individuals pushing into the que from the kidney track side ( come on guys be fair we all paid the same price to get in ) other than that had a enjoyable day
You know we probably could fit 3 BMWs through that entry but you guys driving your spaceship kitted Nissans take up all that space :P
Had a great day at Pod. Good consistent weather all day. Good to see everyone taking down the top track. fair play for the queue minus a few sneaking in the wait; must have been just as long as Buxton or longer due to the massive turnout. Cheers to Mint Tyres: Black Steve and Liam attracting all the women to the dirtiest portion of DWYB...the tyre vanLot of thrashed rubber that 2 busy guys helped turn out the new tread for everyone to keep skidding. Good to see Blackett Photography crew has grown to 3 persons on the occasion to take more pics of you! "the skidders". Hopefully next DWYB the only lorries driving the top track will be drifting instead of spending 30 mins to pick up a trailer while the bloke has tea and biscuits.
Great day,
cheers to the Marshalls, mint tyres and blackett photography for all the hard work, not forgetting Chunk of DB AUTOMOTIVE for helping me out with shizzle to keep the car going, thankfully it was just some brake fluid this time... Although was a rather Brown pants moment lossing my brakes!
Gutted for the lad in the 180sx (Alex was it?) with the big off; glad you was ok.
The lorry leasurely collecting that trailer took wayyy too long and should of been dealt with before the briefing!
Just a question, why are only 4 cars allowed out on track at a time?
Can we not run a 'buxton-drift-train' sort of method up pod?
Once experience enough Earnt the rights to go out on track With persay 6-8 drivers all pre agreed?
Lol yeah man, people slate pod... Never understood why?fantastic day guys can't wait for the next, thanks to mr Blackett for the help advice and pics, chris in the blue e36.<br />

Always a good laugh- what its all about
Never gone away from pod without a smile on my face

Good to meet you properly Clive. I did ask about trains etc and the marshall said have you seen the consistency out there today.....LOL
I don't know how I never traded any fresh paint with jay at times as we were so fucking close to each other. The top bend was a long old run in on the handbrake this time too.
I gave up doing 3rd by the afternoon as the water was 120c and car was soooo boggy with ecu yanking all the timing out. It's never really got hot before that day so something's probably about to break hahaha.
Still had a good day, see you next week![]()
I am not sure how they run it at Buxton as I haven't been there. But at Pod unfortunately not everyone has adequate experience. Numbers of cars on the top track is limited to reduce the chances of people colliding. In my experience of attending just about every DWYB for the last 3 years there are too many stealthy twinners following people they don't know the ability of. I would like to see some form of 'twin buddy' system introduced. Where you go out with stickers front and rear so people know you wanna get close 'to each other' but stay the hell away from the pair of you. If you wanna hook up four cars in a train then fair do's.
Having been hit recently by a stealth twinner I know how annoying it is loosing the seat time whilst you fix your car, not to mention the cost.
Ian.![]()
Buxton have 2 seperate queues for this. If you are happy to drift in a train or twin with someone then line up and crack on. You need a drift train sticker to use that lane which are given out to people who can be trusted to take note of Marshall flags and drift consistently. It could get pretty messy if you missed a flag or incident ahead. Slightly different on track at pod as its so open and not marshalled on track as such.
