Tools and racing jacks

Im going to be updating my tool collection shortly, what socket sets do you guys recomend? Do you guys think its worth paying the extra cash and buying quality? Used Halfords pro before and seems very good plus the Navy use alot of Draper which also seems good.

Also is there anyone that sells decent Aluminium racing jacks that doesnt cost a bodypart? Back in 2007 I used a giant 5 tonne trolley jack which was awesome but bloody heavy!

Well depends on what force you're going to put through them, items like blue-point/snap-on are extremely pricey but you only buy them once if you know what I mean.. also - you could probably get snap-on/blue-point on finance if you have a friend working as a mechanic etc.

If you're not going to bash the tools and look after them well (avoid rain etc) then halfords pro is more than enough, chrome val is the minimum requirement though.

Thanks

If you have a air-line/compressor I suggest getting a jack which uses those, they aren't too expensive. All of them will weigh a tonne though, it is designed to take a lot of weight

Sealey multi colour sockets i love em, no more looking for the right one.

I use old school jacks and timber, no point in low jacks they dont last a year

I've been very happy with halfords pro stuff and I also have a couple of draper socket sets which has served me really well, for the money I dont think you can go far wrong. I also have a teng 1/2" socket set from screwfix that I keep in the car, that is a lovely bit of kit and feels really solid and dare I say better than snap-on one's I've used! I'm going to get the full set one day when i have the money. As for a jack I bought a cheapo (£35) 2 ton clarke one from machine mart and it does the job and is nice and small to stick in the boot and store.

Yeah I got one of them, had it for years, a beast, lower than 99% of jacks and strong as fcuk.

Weighs about 18 tons though, so not as conveniant as most, so I rarely take it to drift days, jus use it round here.

And halfords stuff is mint, didnt realise that deal is back on, ill grab that, lost half my ones
