yes there is 180sx type s or s14 Q's and J's but as they're import only they tend to be just as expensive to insure as the UK turbo versions.
as above. yes there is, however being imports they will cost you more to insure than a turbo.

well that sucks! is there any good non turbo cars that are good for drifting but can be turbo'd in the future? i want to have a non turbo drift car to do up untill i build up my no claims, then when i have a years NCB i can either add a turbo kit for it, or swap the engine for a turbo'd one.
E36 BMW. I had a 318is at 19 And it was around 1400 to insure fully comp, not too bad at all tbh.
And yes a 318 With a welded diff/coilovers will drift in the dry, its underpowered but it works and they're really good to learn in. All you need it a welded diff, ebay coilovers and a seat, strip it out and away you go, cheap budget skidder.
Easy and cheap to drop a 325 Lump in also for more power.
was hoping to maybe get a mazda, toyota, nissan or something like that. never been a massive fan of bmw :/
Don't agree on the mx5 being shit I've got one really easy to drift and its a good drivers car plus the insurance isn't that bad and in the future it can be turbod or throttle body's can be applied aswell I'm loving my mx5 at the mo and all parts are cheap as fuck and a peace of piss to work on !!!

T'was a joke after a recently little spat in another thread.
I've pretty much decided on a 318IS, personally. Anything RWD and with a little poke should be okay though.
Surely a turbo converted car will cost more to insure than one that's turbo from the factory? Stop dreaming and just get a shitter and learn to drive it.
Something like an old Volvo is prefect for a young person starting out surely, cheaper to buy and insure than a BMW I would have thought?
