taking extra wheels to drift days.. where do you leave them?

just wondering what you guys do when you go to drift days and drive your drift car there. do you leave them in the car whilst drifting, or leave them somewhere? going to start drifting in an mx5 and it's a struggle getting wheels in so i don't want to leave them in there whilst i'm drifting :/

any help will be much appreciated

    cheers,
    lee.

Depends where you go, dont leave them in the car though! Especially in an MX5, you want all the weight out.

If you go to Santa Pod or something then you just leave all your stuff in the pit area.

does santa pod have a tyre changing facility? and does everyone leave there wheels in the pit?

yeh i was a little worried about being smacked by a wheel mid drift..

only 21 so i can't get insured on a s13 or something bigger so i have to learn in a mx5.. hate the fact i can't hire a flat bed to take it there and back as you need to be 23 for them to let you.. so i have to drive it there

Judge where you are drifting. If the wheels are particularly desirable and your pit isn't overlooked by friends/you aren't returning to it frequently, then secure the wheels somehow, even just a padlock chain to a fence looped around the wheels.

Don't trust people at drift days, sorry to say it, but shit is ALWAYS getting stolen.

yeh i was thinking that, but didn't really want to say anything and offend anyone :P would be devastated if i returned to the pit and noticed my wheels had gone.. first ever drift day and i returned with 2 less wheels would kind of put me off drifting, unless i broke them myself of course but that's different

I've always just turfed all my stuff out into a pile at my pit area. I like to think that if anyone else in the area spots someone nosing around my pit they'd tell me. I am quite trusting though.

Never worried about Pod, too busy and open for stuff to get robbed easy, never heard of it on a DWYB day tbh.

Only place I didnt like was Brum Wheels, as the place is a total hole, pits are quite hidden, anyone can get in n out of there, and its in the middle of a city.

I have a couple of steel cables that I chuck round my spare wheels/toolboxes. I try and hook these round a fence or something then chuck a padlock on.

I would second the securing stuff, people will pinch it, had a breaker bar and sockets nicked at the pod

never had a problem when Ive gone to buxton or my 1st drift day at blyton, just dumped all my wheels and tools in the pits, though I just used standard sierra wheels and wellers so not worth nicking haha.

I jusr turf all my stuff out where im parked and hope for the best.
I put the snap on buzz gun back in the car though. Its just too valuable and easy to rob.

I throw a chain through my tools and wheels at pod. Some cunt took my large socket set and I had to find it at the other end of the carpark.
