can you tell me the pros and cons of this car
-would you suggest this to a beginner?
-can you drift already with it even without tuning?
-parts/maintenance/insurance expensive?
-does it eat too much gas compare to other cars
-this or silvia s15?

i dont reckon it would be suitable for a beginner. you would be better off with an mx5, old e30/e36 bmw would be my choice. reasons being cheaper to buy, maintain and insure. and a hell of a lot cheaper on fuel. Rex's are thirsty especially when driven hard.
start off cheaper and get some experience then work up.
thanks for the advice sir adamfitz!

no worries bud. ive got a rex myself and certainly notice the fuel consumption on it. but then we dont buy them for MPG!
Pros: good handling
good power
good looks
Cons: It will blow up.
No. Not really a beginner friendly car. There are better options.
Yes, in the same way any other car can be. You don't have to do mods to make a car drift.
Harder to maintain than a regular car due to needing different knowledge. It's nothing you can't learn yourself though with time and practice. Insurance is going to be similar to any other high risk performance car of this type.
Yes, it's a rotary. I've heard of 20mpg on motorway runs.
If you have the money, the S15 would be the better choice for you. However, I'd still reccomend something like an Mx5, old 3 series or S13 to start out in.
What adamfitz said basically.
Only get an rx7 if you like rx7s more than drifting. If you like drifting get a mx5/BMW/s13 which won't need as much time, effort, monies to skid as a 7
If you like S15s but don't want to smash one up, I'd recommend an S14 as 99% of any parts you buy will bolt straight on to an S15 if you decide to get one at a later date![]()
and you now this from experience?
if joe blogs didn't look after his ca,sr,jz etc it will blow up
i run a n/a fc as my daily and its a pain in the arse on petrol i get 22mpg if i drive like my gran around town im looking at 14 mpg if im lucky. plus if your looking at a fc rust on a lot of them is a pain mine's just failed its mot on rust on the sills.
i was 19 when i had mine and insurance was only 1400 a year although that was for a fc if your comparing ti a s15 im guessing your looking at a fd.
certain parts are a bit of a pain to find but not to bad just a tad expensive

FWD GAVE ME AIDS
if the RX is looked after its a great car. but they have to be treated with respect. I bought my rex as i love the car. Have absolutely no intention of drifting it. If i wanted a car to skid i would have gone s13, mx5 etc. as cheaper on parts, maintenance and so on
Your a tool if you buy either a RX7 or S15 as your first skid car to learn in. You will 100% crash. Pick a car you arnt going to be anal about, then when you crash you'll just hammer it back the other way and carry on.
As above, s13, s14, r32/3, soarer, supra, IS200/Altezza, MX5, E30, E36, etc..... All these can be bought for less than £2k and will be fine to skid, spend more if you want but don't complain when you twat your rear quarter in![]()
This bloke had a thread removed earlier, "Which beemer is good for skids" or some shit.
