    Where to get Drift rubber..!

    Hi All,

Finally my S14 is at a level where I want to start going to drift days regularly. Where are people getting all their skid rubber from? I’ve found a few good local tyres on ebay which are as good as free. Ive also got 4 tyres on my stock s14 rims which I plan to smoke! But what are peoples recommendations for getting a consistent supply of rubber.

Located in Herts by the way.

    Thanks all..

My local tyre place has offered to fit any of his scrap tyres for free on my skid wheels aslong as he is quiet. He has to pay to scrap them in so me taking them does him a favour. Scrap tyres are anything he removes or can't sell because of low tread, so they could still have a few mm left on them but to him they are useless.

Tyres are easy. Just go and make friends with your local tyre place and they'll let you take what you want. Most venues will change tyres for you including disposal so tyres are the least of your worries!

i just got 2 tyres of ebay for £2.27 just down road from me so that was a bargain.

I will give the local tyres places a go then. I tried a few in the past and they were all a bit funny about it...

Hopefully ill have better luck round this area as i recently moved

You'll want to aim for the more independent places rather than big places like Kwik Fit, as they have contracts for disposal and are a bit more touchy about you having old stuff.

If your looking for 18s try finding a BMW or merc specialist place, my local merc garage had stacks of 18s out the back. If they deal in higher end cars generally they'll have bigger wheels.

Quick fit wont give you them as they are worried about people selling them on as part worns . Quick fit do have the best used rubber though as they con old people in to swapping nearly new tyres because they have a puncture. Most independant tyre places would be more than happy for you to take them , I used to get paid a tenner to get as many in my landrover as possible!

    Good hunting

My local one was ok with me and friends taking them, but try anywhere that deals in higher end cars. Not main dealers but just normal garages.

    Hi guys.

Sorry for slow reply. I'm in Cheshunt. But I don't mind travelling for a decent job.

I really need 4 wheel alignment done as well so if anyone knows a decent place in herts that would be really great.

The amount of cars that run 18's from the factory these days means that theres a massive supply of 18s available. I run mostly 17's with only 1 pair of 18's but every tyre pile I crawl through is packed full of 18's so thinking of buying a few more sets to take advantage of it.
