i need some info on alloys for my mk4 supra that will go over uk calipers

    hi

im looking to buy some alloys for my supra in 18inch staggered but im not too sure what is the maximum offset i can use... iv been told its 5x114.38

the wheels need to clear the front calipers as they are uk spec

    and the suspension is standard

    any idea guys?

or if you guys have anything for sale that would fit

or pictures of wot would look good without rolling the arches and messing with the suspension

Hi, you don't seem to have any idea what you are talking about.

5x114.3 is the PCD - the stud pattern.

The offset is a positive or negative number which describes the distance between the position of the centerline of the wheel and the mounting face (the bit that sits flat on the hub when you bolt it up).

Is that supposed to be 5x114 +38? I dont know about wheel fitment on a supra, there are a few supra owners knocking about here though. All I know is that supra arches look massive, so you should have plenty of room to play with.

lol, tell it like it is

Width is also going to play a part, if they're pony 18x7 wheels arch rubbing is unlikely to be an issue.
Also generally you want the lowest offset you can, not the highest - generally lower offset looks better

What are the specs of the wheel? It should be listed something like this:

    18x8J + 30
Size X Width + offset (occasionally you can get negative offset wheels)

Thing with the UK brakes, offset isnt really important but the design of the wheel is.

.....so if i use set of 18's with 8.5 front rear 9.5j and offset 28 would that cause any problems like tyres rubbing on the arches...or other problems that you folks may know of?

doubt 18's will rub your arches if your suspension is standard, unless you run 4x4 tyres.. the issue you may have is wheel protruding from the arch which is technically illegal (no matter what the vdub boys say) but again, thats all down to the offset of the wheel

probably, google wheel offset calculator or something.

Be careful though, someones painted those wheels a shit colour and they have "smell" marks on the lips, which sounds like skiddies.

Probably not, fairly flat centres, low offset.

To start with I think you'll have to double your budget just for the rims with out tyres.

take a look in the for sale section to see what decent make/model ,sizes and offset, dishy wheels go for

Get on MKIV.net, all the knowledge you would ever need is there.
Ive had a few cars with UK specs on, one of my Soarers had UKs and ran Advan RG IIs, +35 offset but a heavily curved spoke design. My Aristo has UK's currently and a pair of Do Luck Double 6s clear them. It used to have SSR Leon Hardiritts (very similar to Work Equips) which were either 0 or very low offset but they needed a spacer to clear the caliper.

As said, get on the supra forum and see what wheels others have fitted, that way you can also see what wheels look best.
