    merc 190e amg engine conversion

    one of my mates has offerd me his 190e amg replica.
    it looks phat just dont move. it revs so slow.
    only just enough power to go sideways in the wet.
    looking for more power

    just wondering if any1 has done engine conversions into them

    what engine to go for?
    and whats involved in puttting it in

    put anything into anything with enough fab skills got any pics of the 190e? absolutlely love them just cant bring myself to buy one lol

    There's a couple in the uk with engine swaps. One with a 3.6 amg motor (pricey) and one with a 3.2 24v out of lots of other mercs that I know of.

    rule of thumb for most conversion is how every long you think its gonna take DOUBLE it and how ever much you think its gonna cost DOUBLE that too.

    tbh if i was going to do a merc engine swap id throw a 24v 3.0 diesel with a big turbo on it.

    guy on retrorides i know did a 3.2 24v conversion in his 190, was supposed to be done in a weekend.
    an "expert" told him it was all bolt in. in the end it took 3 months due to loads of little bits all being wrong.
    it did bolt right in, but its all the little bits that take them time and money
