    Hi All

I am after some help, I have an E46 323 and it seems to be under steering like mad when I go to kick the back end out. What can I do to prevent this? The front tyres are falkens so half decent.

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks

    Dan

    More than likely technique.
Start with high rear pressures and go fast.

I was playing with the tyre pressures as I was at DWYB. This didn't seem to help.

Steer then clutch kick, use the weight of the car.

    Have you checked the alignment?

That would be a good start , and adjusting tyre pressure is important

Are you trying to skid it with an open diff? That would do it..

Tracking and general alignment setup. Pressures too can help with under/oversteer. And like stavros said, steering too much is probably not helping. When you initiate I always believe that you are only steering to tell the back to come out either left or right, you arent trying to turn the front of the car like you would when gripping.

Thank you for the advice and I will look into being not so aggressive with the steering.

What tyres pressures do you recommend in the fronts? 205/55/16

The first question for me is what suspension / alignment? A welded diff naturally causes understeer, but that can be corrected with a decent alignment and most importantly front negative camber. HSD coilovers set to -3 degrees front camber transforms an E36 like night and day, so I can only imagine an E46 is the same.

Add a dab of skandinavian flick and try to be smooth. If youve got digital steering input it wont help, particularly as a welded diff tends to push you on.

It is currently on standard suspension, I am fitting coilover to her over the Christmas period.

I am going to get the alignment checked over the weekend.

Ok so do you reckon I need to set my front negative camber to -3?
