Alright chaps New to the forum and only been attempting drifts for the last 6-8 months on and off in between the car being broken or me working. My issue is I can't CONSISTENTLY get skidding in 2nd gear. I drive a e46 325 with a welded diff, hsd coils and a couple of other minor mods like camber arms etc I thought the problem was to do with the wheels I was running ( fairly heavy bbs reps 18" x 8 front 18" x 9 rear) But having recently changed to a set of MUCH lighter 17" x8 front & rear wheels I still cant consistently get sideways around corners I've got 225/45 all around ns2rs up front and some budgets on back 40psi on rear No problem doing burnies in 1st, spins up a treat after dropping the clutch. But in second trying to go around a corner after kicking the clutch it just seems to rev and does not spin up the wheels or put any power down to the ground Is there a power issue? Could my clutch be fucked so I'm not able to kick it properly? Are the wheels still to big? Not enough psi? Am I being a pansy and not flicking it in enough? Any help appreciated folks ✌️️

Sounds like clutch - But it should smell like clutch too. Putting smaller wheels on and being more violent will help it skid even with a half arsed clutch but by the sounds of it... most probably clutch
Thanks for response mate, I'll have to get a skinny set of 16s on shitty rubber I think. Any recommendations on a clutch for 325 e46? Or just go OEM again, cheers pal
I always thought the easy way to see if you had a knackered clutch was to try and pull away in like 3rd gear. If it judders and wants to die then your clutch is fine, but if its a slippy POS then you will be able to pull away without too much fuss
Stick some 15's or 16's on the back and pump them up. Also some E36's (maybe all?) have a clutch delay valve, this can sometimes cause issues when clutch kicking, get it removed. If the clutch isn't slipping (im sure youd know if it was) then you probably just need to sort your back tyre situation and give it some more shit.

Try 15 or 16 inch rims out n see if that makes a difference! E46 is quite heavy compared to e36! That way your gearing is lower. Thats the cheaper option first, then go for a smaller case diff (318, 320 one)
