They are Khumo tryes, but as far as I know, they are not available to buy in Europe, or at least they weren't available last time we looked into it

The tyres are available but you have to have "contacts" at Kumho or within the Tyre trade. Kumho is a little nervous about selling them to anybody..they don't want people drifting on the streets emitting red smoke!!..

You can get them for about £300 each (!!) that's the cheapest I have heard unless sponsored.

Available colours: Blue, Yellow, Red..or perfumed Vanilla, Lavender !!

Kumho had these tyres at the autosport show this year - the figure they quoted for pricing then was "about £1200"

under current EDC regs they are not allowed - primarily because at the time they were not likely to be road legal and they are not readily available to all drivers

following a request from a current EDC driver I started to look at the possibility of them being allowed and had a meeting to two peeps high up at Kumho, since then nothing more has changed..... mainly due to the driver saying he is no longer interested and no one else has asked.

Like in this case, if someone has a valid request for a rule revision i am happy to look at it and discuss it with the rest of EDC admin.

also - IF they ever were allowed, it would have to be very clear that there would be no scoring advantage to the coloured smoke

Now theres a way to appeal to people who dont like the smell of burning tyres, scent them!
