fit nankangs for a bit of woohoo on every corner

I used to love my runways, but this season must be a bad batch as they have delammed and pitted badly every round.

Munkul, thats not delam, thats driving on wires......

If the surface is good Stav like on proper tracks, new tyres hold together so much better mainly because they've not been stored in the rain for a few years

For Pod just run anything round and black as the surface will wear the tyres quicker than the heat.

I always find michelins smoke really well. I also find changing your damping settings make loads of difference. Full soft, smoke like mad but last a few laps. Full hard, hardly smoke and last ages.

Seems 225/45 are the cheapest at under 50quid a tyre looking at Camskill.

But that really VFM over even using tyre man used tyres at drift days? I've never used BRAND new tyres, but not that far off sometimes, surely they don't last long enough to be worth it?
Not sure if it's been answered as I'm in a rush, but Nexen N6000 are good, it's what I run on the front of the S14 and they're impressive for a cheap tyre!

In terms of new tyres, I've used 595's and Infinity 01's and both have not only given a shit load more grip than used, have lasted absolutely ages also and not fell to bits. I think the Fed's were grippier than the infinities though.

And I still stand by my 5 year old comment that Conti's fall apart.

Indeed they do, but on a non-sessioned event, are they worth the money over the cost of a set fitted from Mint etc etc?

They'd have to last what, 10 times longer?

when I first started, I got a few pair of spare wheels (cheap) and made a deal with my local tire supply shop to buy all of there used tires in my size. He used to make me some pretty good deals because I bought so many from him....

On an open pit lane day it all depends how much you/your car cooks them continuously. They'll obviously not last ten times longer as you know but what do you want to spend your drift day doing? Drifting or swapping tyres?

I still use part worns sometimes but all I'm saying is budget tyres are pretty good value if you way everything up
