For e36's m3 evo top mounts fitted the wrong way round is a really useful tip for increasing camber out front (courtesy of the Bon tbh).
Handbrakes are wank in my experience on all but poverty spec 316's with drum rears. Fit drum rears if you dont like brakes but do like handbraking or fit hydro.
Usual stuff, weld, strip, seat and wheel is obv although imo anything 318is and above can live with interior if only to be an occasional practice day type effort whilst remaining a daily.

For my ultimate BMW drifting tip, buy a e28 535. Bestest/Coolest sideways BM I have owned and Im sure others will agree and the lazy torque of the old skool straight 6 produces smokes you JDM boys can only dream of below 300 powahs.

Yep e28 535i's are awesome, although I resent any e28 that isn't satin black, slammed, with no bumpers or interior.

In this order, for most BMWs to make them drifty...

1) weld diff
2) strip interior
3) slam it
4) fit bucket seat
5) make sure viscos fan thingy works

spoilt my first day after 8 laps

So how many bmw"s are gonna be drifting on the day then?
1. Me
2. mitsi matt

Same as any other car really

I don't see covering a DWYB being able to give readers technical knowledge about making BMWs drifty but it's just the basic logic really. Fitting diffs is crazy on BMWs unless you are spending £10k on one, but most BMWs can be made really competitive with only a few grand including car purchase generally lol.

Taff, stop trying to get a PBMW feature

I think generally as I say any drift technical "setup" can be applied to BMWs but with "fit a bigger engine" instead of "fit a bigger turbo".
how about camber?? I've got it on my E30, and it goes like crazy in combo with some crazy steering lock greetzz Victor

You should be able to fit any other e34 top mounts yeah, but m3 could be different as they are different front suspension design.

I started my drifting in BMW(E36 328), one of the best and affordable cars for learners out of factory to my mind. Ideal 50/50 weight distribution. Tell me which jap car has a battery as a standart in the boot ?
Most necesary mods:
1) Diff from M3 EVO
2) Stiff coilovers
3) P/steering cooler
4) Struts
5) X-brace as mentioned before
6) Bucket seat (just look at standart seats!!!)
7) Steering wheel
8) 4 point(at least) belts
9) wheels wise i go for 9x16inch (215/40/16 rubber)
10)5mm spacers in front
11)stripping not necessary, not heavy
12)Plastic bits and carbon hoods do good work to enlighten body panels
13)Definately snap of the flywheel!! or put a lighweight one
14)modify the gearbox so that M20 clutch fits, frickin cheap and strong
15)Dont be a pussy

I always have loveed beemers
There we go

Even a E30 325 has the battery in the boot, i'm gonna put my battery (320 e30) also in the boot.

Or you could buy a welded diff, or get yours welded, which would save even MORE cash

You've obviously never driven with a welded diff. Unless your middle car had one lol.
