Events in Japan - May Time, D1?

Hey guys,

I'll be in Japan by the 3rd of May and obviously there are a few members on here already in Japan and i wondered if any of you knew about some up and coming events / track days etc i would be able to check out and grab some snaps up?

I was speaking to NOB last week and he mentioned something about a D1 round possible in May time but was a bit unsure to be honest.

Anyways, I'll wait to here back.

There's tons of events. Where are you going to be? Japan's kinda big...Well not big, but it takes forever to get to places. Tell me what area and I'll look it up in Doriten for you

You should whore yourself out as a tour guide. No one seems to know anything about getting around Japan and you could save them loads of time and hassle, and obviously take them to the nastiest joints in town after the drifty sightseeing

snack bars for the win,

trouble with finding any decent joints with traditional japanese entertainment is gaigen factor,we found a few decent 'titty bars' but we wer not even allowed entrance into most, someting about being to big !! ,the place did not look that small ??

Good stuff mate, I'll be staying in Asakusa, Plan on Visiting Osaka and Hiroshima. We have a 2 week JR Pass so were sorted for moving from Place to Place.

But i would think we'll mostly be around Tokyo, Chiba sorta area.

I would like to go to Daikoku one friday night or sat if your interested?

I'm not in Tokyo, but if you go to Osaka you could stop in Nagoya on the way and I'll come with you to Meihan circuit. It's not that far and if I've still got my 86 we could drive down from Nagoya. Takes about 2-3 hours. Shinkansen to Nagoya from Tokyo is about 1hr 30.

Meihan events in May:

4th - White Rabbit Club
5th - K&K Club
13th -D2
18th - Not sure what it says
24th - GO
28th - FULL COUNTER

But if you wanted to go North, you could try Ebisu or Mobara, or even Nikko. All not too bad to get to from Chiba, but you'd need to rent a car really.

D1GP/SL at Suzuka is on the 24/25th May, only advice Id give is source your tickets the very second you arrive in Japan (Lawson,FamilyMart,7Eleven,SunKus etc) as it has been sold out on the gate in the past with crowds of 17,000+ turning up

Suzuka takes about 1 hour from my place! Easy to get to as well on the Expressway. All depends on if I have a car or not when/if you come to my area.

eek hope you're staying in 1 place, golden week traffic will be queued back for hours, and every train will be 1 million times more busy/full get to ebisu and stay there lol, or plan very well in advance

Good idea going there in Golden Week, really good Think of Bank Holiday traffic then multiply it several times, and its for 7 days not just a weekend
