Bigtone off of SXOC - GT35r/40 turbo @ and reckoned to be in excess of 700bhp on race fuel @ 2.5 bar .......... apparently it will take 3 bar as well

Mad build - theres a thread in project sectuion. The man has a carbon roof FFS

Who said the CA was shit?

See here: the reason for my crap 1/4 mile time - SXOC Bulletin Board

Richies, which Damo is now driving. It got up to 640ish bhp but then the block cracked, so it got broke back down into parts. Awesome car.

jrtuning ben, damo, possibly Jez@Horsham and a few others on SXOC will be 600bhp plus before too long Id imagine

I have no experience of the CA series so apologies if this question is an obvious one. What is it about the CA that puts the threshold at about the 600 mark, the block?

CA's are shit.
There is an S13 with an RB30 that pushes some interesting power.

It's not "THAT" hard to push big power out of a CA/SR/RB. Doing it reliably so it can actually be used is the difficult one. The ever famous "Rich/Norris S13" only ever actually ran properly for 3 weeks in a year.

600 bhp with a 1.8 is quite an achievement in my opinion, even if it was for just 3 weeks

Thats my main problem now with my s13. im now running a dbpower SR but have only got an OSG 3 gear set in the box and i dont think it will last the year so i need to save up for some PPG goodness before i will go over 2bar boost. my holeset hx40 turbo will push 70lbs of air flow at around 3bar positive boost pressure

Stuee_69 - mental car that is but still being mapped IIRC. Should be good for an easy 600+ when its done I believe

Other comments - bullshit quite frankly. Theres plenty of CA's running 400+ reliably and Im guessing Bizzle owned Richies car as well seeing as he knows how often it worked .......... Fcuk me even I went out in the thing three weeks in a row

Jez Horsham won amateur Time Attack last year with a CA, and Ive no doubt the Apex boys and Damo will put in a good showing again this year. Loads of CA drift cars are abused week in, week out and surprisingly few need rebuilding

0-100mph in 7.41sec from a 1.8 is pretty rubbish thinking about it though.

Docwra,
Just face it mate. Your wrong.
CA's are shit.

They are so shit that the Japanese removed them from there own S13's because they didn't want the shame of owning one. Why has Jez now running an SR in his car?

I spoke to rich at the time, over the phone who told me in his own words that the bloody thing rarly ran right and had only ever sat on his drive for 3 weeks in the past year (this was in 05) so neener neener (sticks out tounge)

CA's are not as good as SR's and are monumentally rubish. You can get a reliable 400hp out of an SR without splitting the block. How many CA's do you know like that? None, because even at 200hp they spit there bit end bearings like the little bastard bitch of an engine they are.

So there.
