Welded diff for the road

Are welded diffs really that bad to use on the road??

I know the points about tyre wear and a little more noise.. but are they really un-drivable on the road.

I have heard good and bad stories but so many people are now saying its bad to use on the road....

Your opinions?

*cough* search button.

I have one and its fine. My back end gets pretty slippy in the wet quite easily, but in the dry its as sticky as anything, and perfectly fine.

What's the car?

Current view is the same as back then. I have an e34 with welder and done millions of miles. Even got asked on the irish docks by the Cops and asked if it was. They just laughed.

I'm not to blame if you drive like a fricktard in the wet and wipe out a small village/tesco.

not being funny mate but if you have to ask a question like that, change your username to something other than drift mechanic!!

however seeing as youve asked, yes welders are fine for normal driving, ive had a mig spec diff on my last three cars and its absolutely fine, dont even notice its there.

its like the whole "is rear wheel drive going to kill me" a car will do what you tell it to, its no more no less, its not herbie!

It's fine, do a search, the views will always be the same so search as alongside "will ******* drift" this is the most common question asked.

I use a welded diff on a daily basis, not a problem. Car park spaces are interesting, so are mini roundabouts
