TDSW at Westonzoyland is nearest, but TBH id rather drive the extra distance and go to Santapod for a DWYB.

Youl learn more at a single DWYB than you will in months of street messing, thas for sure, esp when you new to it.

On that note, ive never found anywhere that good for that around bristol anyhow, and ive looked. Even avonmouth docks area, which is a ghost town at night, hasnt got anywhere decent.

DWYB, 60quid, job done.

havent been to the pod one but tdsw is bargainous ...and the last one filled up in an afternoon. for £25 for 6 hours of legal skiddyness

the pod one sounds interesting too as there are a number of areas to practise from doughnuts, 8's, and other layouts.

Hmm downs could be fun but i was up there once n the police asked me what i was doing n before you think it, no i wasnt!

well im very very skint for a while but maybe 2 weeks or so ill be looking for the following on the cheap:

SS exhaust (prefer single exit jap spec exhaust like 4" exit)
induction (any rly)
dump valve (would like one that makes a cool compression surge noise )
alloys (something cheap that fits with legal tyres or some alloys i can switch my 195/50/15 pre-facelift tyres with)
Gauges (oil temp, oil pressure and boost gauge on bars)
Facelift front bumper in dark red (would need the side lights etc too)

To be fair stav I know you've been to WZ but you have never attended TDSW. We have had a lot of previous POD customers who rate TDSW extremely highly due to its atmosphere, cost and maximum use of minimum space. We have regulars pushing for 3rd there now, myself included which says a lot as you know how small it is.
Get what you pay for and I am sure Pod is awesome, it is also 3 times the price and lot further away.

Problem nowadays is getting on one, only 8 a year and the last one sold out in 3 hours.

Btw Aztec West is all I shall say on the Bristol subject.

Bristol is crazy with cops and you wont catch me using the roads as "drift practice" I would recommend TDSW, Pod etc for some fun.

I have a HKS dump valve for sale already attached to a boost pipe if your interested? Also have a load of s13 wheels and tyres I need to get rid of as im now 5 stud

I'd agree, the Bristol area seems to be quite hot on the traffic cop front. You'd really need to venture a little further out of Bristol I think to one of the quieter small towns/villages. I can't recommend anywhere in particular (I'm a good boy on the roads) but Cheddar Gorge would be awesome to do, if only death wasn't imminent with every rockface at each corner...

Im not saying nothing but I hear someone did it 4up in a e30 tourer and narrowly avoided death and brown pants.

Cheap cars ftw.

well yeah i know how bad the police are (3 points already) and in my head i was really thinking 10 - 20 miles out from bristol into the country side because i live like towards the edge of bristol (emersons green) and police always circle common race areas. guess thats why you seen more "pimped" corsas around then low budget performance cars. but im thinking like gordano services have a massvise car park but i havent ever gone there at night. its prob best to say i can go as far as about 40 miles or so on a nice sunday evening. has castle combe ever had open drift days? i know that the driftworks team here will be showing off at japfest but days for myself...

Castle Coombe do "Action days" which include Eurofest, Japfest, Performance Action day, and Classic and sports action day. On all of these days you can buy 15 minute sessions for £30 ish, £20 if you pre order as part of a club.
Last one I went to they offered one of the sessions out to people to drift (or try to) but not many people took it up and some that did were in FWD.

Sounds a lot but its not far off what you'd pay to go Go karting and its much more fun. You can pretty much get away with a skid in any session but not if your shit and mess up a lot or its obvious thats all your out for.

Excuse my condescending tone, but there's not a single item there that is of any use to a skint person who would like to learn to drift?! You could get many practice days for the money you'd waste on that stuff. Why not just cut your springs, weld your diff and go skidding??

A truly sphincter puckering experience … not like I have skidded there though as that would be bad. The 5-0 do patrol the gorge as it’s a popular hangout for the local rude boys.

Tsk, its not real drifting unless your drift spec tyte yo!11!!!! Everyone knows the real secret to proper skidding is not what you do to your car its how it looks. Matt black paint and dished wheels will make your car skid good.
