As long as its a fuel cell behind a firewall I dont see why there would be a problem.

I know a couple of people on SXOC who run LPG powered S14's with no issues. As long as its a good system fitted professionally there should be no issues.

From what I have heard LPG is pretty good octane.

I had a lpg e30 for a short while, but not really long enough to know the ins and outs of 'em. I believe the exhaust gas temps are higher. So could be a bit more strain on the turbo?

Our V8 Discovery is on LPG, it does feel slower when you flick it onto gas, but is quicker when you select petrol, but its about half the price as its a by-product of petrol production IIRC. Our tanks are twin 45ltrs under the car, so even helps lower the centre of gravity

Just make sure the brackets dont get constantly dirty as they will corrode and the tanks will drop off

It wouldn't be so bad if we weren't getting raped on on road tax ASWELL!

Fair enough the likes of france etc. charge more on fuel iirc, but they don't/won't be paying half the road tax we do!

I would happily pay a bit more on fuel if road tax was reduced significantaly, at least then it would seem fair on how road tax is regulated, by use and not just one flat rate.

But then the government wouldn't make money off our asses then I guess!

Beer and water are more expensive per litre, and you don't see threads about those popping up all the time.

Stop whining and realise how cheap it actually is in comparison to other liquids.

The main problem is how cheap it should be, and the annoyance is from the ridiculous amount of tax on it. I'm sure there's significant tax on beer too but whatever. Petrol should cost around 42p a litre, everthing else is tax.

oil prices determine fuel price.

Already demand outstrips supply, so the supply goes to the highest bidder. Huge world powers like India and China can cough up much more than we can, so that's what happens to the price. It sucks, but that's the reality. The situation will never improve. In fact, as oil becomes more and more scarce, it'll become more and more expensive.

Almost certainly within our lifetimes, petrol and diesel as we know them will all but cease to exist as a consumer item.

This is the reality of the world we live in. You can bury your head in the sand and focus solely on the immediate inconvenience of having to pay slightly more than you used to for fuel, or you can accept that unless drastic action is taken, the planet's basically fudged.

Or, the third alternative, you can just accept it, pay up, and enjoy petrol while it lasts. Because one day, possibly fairly soon, it'll be almost impossible to afford.

True but for every £1 i spend on beer the government dont get 70p of it.

Maybe if they made valid use of all this tax then it could be justified but they dont.

I also dont understand that if oil prices determine fuel prices then how have BP and Shell managed to make over £7bn profit in three months

Someone is laughing all the way to the bank and it definetly aint me

shell and bp profits are largely derived from extraction and distribution rather than forecourt prices. tesco made huge profits last year, so should milk be cheaper?
