inspirational drifting pics

I've not been practical on the drift scene like alot of you guys but i have been into the scene for a while.

Just wondering what got you into it?

Mine was a D1 day at silverstone a few years back. Sadly i lost all pics.

It was DRIFTKING.NL that gave me the buzz, the sound of that BMW ESTATE

found this pic on his site

when D1 IRL started up the mates had moved on from 1.3 FWD first cars to carltons etc and as i was always the man behind the camera it was basically a social weekend to the south of Ireland for a skin full, some smokey skids and a lock of images, then my photography took off after a while and i ended up visiting Silverstone twice and covering irish events on a more professional basis

Then i got bored of it all and went back to rallying and now i'm covering the drifting a bit more again (mainly due to the fact that a magazine sends me to report from the local championship) and i realise the craic i have missed for 2 years by not going to the drifts

Wanting an s13 or golf GTi track car with a mate, went on SXOC, went to a few meets, saw Ant and Bon Bon there and was exposed to the "hardcore" daily streeto side of drifting and loved it. Rolling Bon's e28 arches with a scaff bar, fishtailing down the road in Ant's stripped out welded diff'd s14a, I loved it. Went on DW to check it out as Ant had it on his sunstrip. I then got a sierra and started myself!

thats one question i really cant answer for myself, i started getting into drifting about the 2001-2002 time, flickered about sites here and there but the motorsport barely had it sown to legs so i just thought id watch and read for a little....then what kicked me off i think was 2004-2005 (could be wrong) was jeeks 24v saph in the early days, so i went out and bought a mk2 sierra xr4i stripped it put a bugget in but sadly never got to drive/drift it, and now got the 24v mk1 xr4i which ive drifted once and hoping to this weekend........so all in a tee i think it was Silverstone Ford Fair where a 3door cossie was making huge smokes and i think it was that which sent me this way

Some local cruises were the first time i saw people skidding in the flesh probably about 3 years ago now. a couple of mk1/2 escorts, 200sxs and a sierra. then two of my mates got themselves some silvias and i decided i wanted to skid after being in their cars

The one with pointlessly mirrored graphics? ie - having the writing the correct way around would not be detrimental to the graphics or the design whatsoever? Stupid.

I got hooked by going for a passenger ride with someone off here at JAE two years ago, then came on here and read (probably got flamed a lot too) and then got in with the wrong crowd who showed me the way of the Ov!

Besides NFSU, I met a couple of tramp drifters at the Retro Rides show last summer, and then forgot about it. Somehow started getting into it at the end of last year, bought myself an E30 just before christmas, and then have been into it since. Nothing spectacular, but it IS a bit odd how I just fell in without having any friends who already do it.

It's a nice car, just got a gripe with pointlessly mirrored graphics. Mainly because I had to stick a reversed "BLITZ" sticker on my e30 at the weekend for the EDC
