Can you convert a DashDodger cage in BDC/EDC spec?

If a car has a dash dodger cage, can it be modifed to be EDC/BDC spec or wil I just have to rip it out and get a proper cage?

if the main hoop is the "correct" size, then you can change the cage too a through dash

if the rest of the cage is good enough for bdc/edc then you can get it adapted

If it only bolts together (as I suspect) then yeah just pull the front legs off and get new ones made at fabricage/chizfab/clarkey/k-drift etc. But no point if the rest is too thin tube etc.

What do you class as a "dash dogder". There are two types that could be called "dash dogders". One is illegal one is legal. Iirc mitch had the second type in one of his s13's.

The dash dodger most speak of are the ones with the bend around the dash. The one I had (and that you can use for comps) are ones that go in front of the dash but straight downwards.

thats the dash dodger that was in my last 33. the front legs on mine unbolted at the roof and i could have put new ones in that went straight down to the floor (through the dash), im assuming yours is about the same?
