Lydden Hill - REAL race track skidding! make it happen every month!!

Just posted this in the events section but the more I think about it the more it needs to be said louder! Lydden Hill is offering skidders a chance to use a REAL race track on a regular basis. People should be jumping on the opportunity to show that drifting can match what other motorsports can do. Drifting in second/third gear on small kart tracks is all very well but it'll never be taken seriously until its done on real racetracks at higher speeds. The average practice day allows you to do one or maybe two laps and then queue for another 10 or 15 minutes. Work out the actual seat time and its half whats being offered at Lydden Hill.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just chatting about this and I reckon its worth making a point of the fact that this is 15minute CONTINUOUS sessions. At a normal skid day with one lap wonders you spend at least 10-15 minutes queueing for every one lap you do. Although understandable due to the small venues, I don't like the way skid days and comps are run with only perhaps 1 minutes seat time for 10-15mins of queueing and only one or if you are lucky 2 laps of a track.
Lots of peole seem to think 8 15minutes sessions is not much track time for the money but I reckon its actually more than most practice days. I reckon the average Lydd (kart track) practice I get about 20 or 30 runs give or take a few, they don't last any more than a minute or two so thats around 1 hours max actual seat time for the average practice day and you only get to do one or two laps at a time. This Lydden hill day has 2 hours and each session is 15mins continuous.
The only place you might get more track time is somewhere like Pod thats not even a track anyway. Its so hard to get proper tracks to support skidding, we need to make it happen. Drifting wont get taken seriously by the motor sports industry until we're skidding real race tracks at high speeds

I'd be there if its affordable and enough notice in the future. I'll judge how good it is at round 5.

My main concern would be tyres. Would they last 15mins of solid abuse??

But dependant on price, could be interested

id love to go theres just a couple things that put me off

1. even on new tyres they wouldnt last 15 mins as i get excited

2. how many spaces are avilable as you dont want to turn up and be sitting for like £25 per session unless its a continouse flow

ohh and you normally get alot more seat time than you think royal

I'm 100000000% up for this, I LOVE this track more than kfc, beer AND nando's all put together. I just spend too much on that crap to be able to afford it EVERY month. Seriously tho, it's just the cost. Shame as it's practically on my doorstep! 5-10 mins away!!

I was holding off posting because I wasn't sure if I was good enough to drift this track (having not seen it before) ... but having seen that video I think I'd not only be fine but would love it
