1jz in an R33

Just a quick question to the people that have done 1jz conversions.

Are the mounts in the same place on the 32\33.

Would the 1jz fit in an r33.

Also what gearbox would i need.

Cheers.

Finding the RB25DET holds you back in your drifting? Yeah must be the case.

Who said the car has an rb25det

Anyway i'm just asking for a mate. It's an idea. Something different. Plus by the sounds of things 1jz's are a good way to go.

you need to get yourself an R154, which will be your main problem. and then the sump will be your next problem, but other than that, all the other bits arent too complex

Bunny,

stop being a fanboi

No amount of JZ goodnees will turn you into a drift god overnight

yes they sound 'cool' and are ' different' - so bloody what

a skybus with a JZ will only be sellable to a eeb on here

a skybus with RB + choice mods cant be sold onto to any petrolhead

I'm assuming that it's got the RB20E motor in it? (single cam 2litre 6pot) so will need an entire drivetrain transplant as well as numerous other mods to make it fit and as lex said wont be easy to sell except to drifters.

If it's a bare shell then go for it, you'd have to get all the bits anyway to make it go so why not go 1JZ?

I'd RB25 it myself as they are easy enough to find and do and they retain their sellability.

1JZ is for a pro spec drift car IMO and unless you have a massive season in it it'll be hard work to sell on for a good price. You don't want to do all this work for nothing do you?

max power output before you need internals

RB25=400BHP
RB26=500bhp

1JZ=500bhp
2JZ=600bhp (some crazy loons even push more )

JZ's are the shizznit

1JZ come with MHG, plus much better design of the oilways, which allow better cooling, and oil circulation/lubrication which i'd imagine plays some part in the reliability.
there was a thread somewhere, dont think its on here, where someone compared the 1jz and the rb25.....the 1jz came out far superior???

1JZ wouldn't devalue a car Lex, never, not when you drive it and realise it's not shit.

560bhp on a stock 1JZ, would be making more ponies if I didn't have the restrictive stock inlet plenum.

But I will say, if you have to ask on here if it's possible, then you shouldn't be considering doing it. Much easier to just drop an RB in.

Where did you get those figures from?

The maximum 'safe' amount on both engines is circa 500 atf, some push more but don't they always
