Programme

Hi,

To confirm we didnt give permission for the show producers to film at the Donington event although I was aware of them requesting to film Time Attack - which didnt go ahead and was not agreed.

I will ask the Donny organisers about the issue though as its far from ideal.

In the meantime should you feel strongly enough about the programme, you can complain directly to Ofcom which I found a link for, link here : A specific programme | Ofcom

Hopefully with enough complaints they will need to change the programme which no doubt has unlimited re-runs all over the satellite channels for the next millenium.

Cheers

Andy

surely then if no permission was given, compensation to the drivers shown and a formal apology to anyone that was shown doing something totally legal is in order??

I suspect there's no legal reason why they can't film at an event, or why they would need permission. After all, plenty of people film events on their mobile phones and put them up on Youtube or whatever.

Thats a good point but i also dont think they can film it for TV purposes without consent, especially if it is used in a negative way

The film used was not shown in the correct context of what it depicted, which isn't allowed.

However, if 100 people sign the Ofcom compaint register, that's enough to pretty much pull an episode, and certainly enough to get a formal apology.

I'll need to watch the show before complaining. I tried to watch it from the link but it only showed up to the first ad break then stopped.

Didn't that presenter penis get done for drink driving? Nice. Kinda like a priest preaching the Lord's word, then 'slipping out back' to bum the choir boys...

Yes, Alistair Stewart has been done TWICE for drink driving. Thats so many times worse than anything any of us do, the hypocricy is epic.

Correctimundo. Usually anything that is Broadcast requries a release. Now, the thing is wether the Pod gave permission to let them film there, as under the rules of entry (usually) you agree to be filmed at events when they are filming or not - thats the common thing in Events these days. If you Look at the Back of a ticket for a gig or on full T&C it does say it in there. Who Knows.....

Complain Away though!! Its the best thing to do and with any luck they will issue a retraction notice and pull the episode.

I'll be watching this evening, and will be happy to complain to Ofcom. This shit keeps happening, and they keep getting away with it. We are a community of over 20,000 members, so getting 100 complaints shouldn't be a problem.

Ive just watched it and its not that bad in my veiw, at the moment when its showing paul and buff at donny it says over the top that "in their heads boy racer think they can drive like this" or something along those lines. the bits at pod look like their from fast show and theirs not that much of it. and at no point did I see they claimed anything bad towards us or mention the word "drifting" or "Drift". but fare enough I understand what people are saying the fact that they included footage of drifting in that sort of program is annoying.

Slipping 'in' the back more like.

TopGear had to apologise after only 7 complaints once...

I've complained anyway.

Its the bit when they flick to footage of dwyb whilst talking about illegally modified cars that pissed me off, enough of us get pulled without giving anyone (police especially) the idea that our cars could be illegal!

i shall definetly be writing a complaint, so theres one more. those programmes make me fucking sick. last one i watched was about "illegal street racing" which turned out to be a couple of crack heads who stole an impreza from a garage and went joyriding, nothing to do with it at all.

if we're going to complain properly to ofcom i reckon we need someone to write up a decent complaint letter detailling all the negative points/effects on the sports image in a a word document then we all download it and sign/address and deliver
