| Good effort people - i have spoke to Pod who are making thier own complaint ![]() I think the compliant would carry more weight if was ammened to read : I am a participant in the motorsport known as drifting, and i feel you depicted the sport unfairly in your programme, showing dangerous illegal activities on the street and associating them withlegal track time at Santa pod events. The statement made on the programme alluded (made an indirect reference) to drifting as a whole, and associated it with the illegal activities caught on camera on the public highway. I would like all future publications and airings of this episode to be cancelled, and a public apology aired. also i think the bods at ofcom have sufficient grasp of english to comprehend what alluded means ![]() Id guess that people who were actually featured in the show would have more grounds to complain than those of us who just partake in the sport ![]() here is mine : Police camera action ran an expose of boy racer culture They used cleverly edited footage of a legal drift racing demonstration that I organise for Santa Pod raceway in a manner that made it appear that the drivers featured where braking the law by driving recklessly on the road and having illegally modifed vehilces This could not be further from the thruth. The demonstration is used to highlight how santa pod can be used as a venue for so called 'boy racers' to practice driving technique away from the public higway in a legal, safe and controlled manner The suggestion that the cars are illegally modified is also grossly unfair. A high percentage of the cars featured are not actually road cars. they are race cars that are trailered to the event and are never driven on the queens public highway. The ones that are driven on the road all have valid tax, MOT and insurance and no illegal modifications I am extremely perturbed by this programme - the drivers featured and I are outraged at being made to look like criminals on national TV I look forward to you feedback Last edited by Lex : 23-07-2008 at 18:38. |

| tail slider ![]() | complaint filed too what a crock of shite and all the footage shown of the cars chased was stolen none drift cars and bog standard chav mobiles and they started with show cars , people that have spent thousand of pounds making the motors look better and stereos to match i didnt see any cars like that doing anything wrong too ok there was a few numptys at the ace cafe but not once did i see any drifting on the puplic roads just on the track by professionals in controlled circumstances by cars that are as we all no built to high spec saftey regulations boy racer antics will happen no matter what they put on the tv and scaring some little boy with a fake crash would have played on his mind for about a week till his mates want him to go to a cruise or something like that make me cringe that a newish sport like drifting can be thrown into a programme like that and yet clarkson on top gear can chuck a car sideway everyweek and that doesnt encourage peeps to go and do it either TOSSERS thats enough now im going back to my xbox and boy racer on grid !!! |

| looks like we're getting somewhere...I'd love to know the exact number of complaints that this has raised! Some of the guys round my way caught it and now, because i skid, I'm guilty by association to twocers and the like. Great...just when the local police were getting off my case...here we go again. Thanks ITV for inadvertantly criminalising my ride! ![]() |
