I gripped my practice lap.
But Lee asked me on the line whether I was driving or drifting and I said driving.
For the simple reason that I was halfway through that set of tyres and IF I went through then I had a chance of using them again.
The next best set I had there were Conti's so had them on standby but I've never been a fan on them. They just seem to be the 1 tyre that keeps popping up as part worn freebies.
On reflection, I would drift the practice lap. Simply because my lead run was the first drift run I had done that day and was a bit sketchy because I hadn't gotten my eye in again.
If we had had open practice in the morning then that would've been different.
I didn't drive the practice lap for psychological reasons.
I'm not really one for mind games. Others are welcome to play but I'm a bit old for all that crap and at this level (semi pro) I see this as more fun and entertainment for the crowd that REALLY serious competition.
Yes I want to win but I'm not gonna pull your plug leads off to do it.

Only reason I wanted to drift the practice was because I had never been to lydden before and also done no practice days this year so every second on the track is needed for me. Also if anyone brake checks or slows for a corner in comp it will be to my advantage as I will be right up on your door even easier my mistakes on those runs we're mine (shit handbrake) braking didn't do it. I go flat out so watch out whoever is leading.
