As the title says, if you had a mx5 for drifting or still got one now could you post a picture or vid of it in action please Got one myself i use for drift days but would like to se what others have done to there sliding 5's! Purely because everyone on the mx5 forums are fannys and dont drift, cheers!
This is a picture of a good friend of mine (doz_sr20) he drifts it like a boss! It looks like hard work but he's got it dialed.simple mods, welded diff & coilovers is all I think?
Kevin Lee is the guy you want to have a chat with..... he's a mentalist behind the wheel and a good fabricator, who is doing MX5 hubs for people like yourself I do believe
Despite the frown I'm actually having fun, lol... Will be having a go at some faster stuff next time. Who welded your diff? Did you use an online guide, do you have any pics? My friend is welding an open diff for me but it doesn't look quite like other open diff as seen on the interenet, bit confused at the minute. Ian.
Here's both of mine, both 150k on the clock standard engine 1.6s, my current red one has got totally standard suspension, white thing had 200quid eBay coil overs. Both will happily smoke 3rd in the dry and keep up with cars with over 3 times the power when drifting. Cost 600 for white one, 400 for red, both with a years MOT. Just weld the diff, fit a drivers bucket, and learn to drive properly rather than blaming the cars spec.
Think the previous thread was 99% lifestyler stance hard parked pics, he is asking for people's ones in action, so this will be less gay. Still really gay as its mx5s, just less so.
Yours will be slide in driveshafts as a pose to bolt onto the half shafts, if the diff has half shafts just smack them out with a chisel. mkes such a difference to the capability these cars can slide!
