July 13th CANCELLED!

It is with much regret that we have to inform you that once again our day has been pulled.
This is extremely disapointing for everyone involved, as after the last Driftworks day was cancelled we have done everything in our power to make sure that this one went ahead.
Basically as far as I understand it, the Donington site is undergoing some pretty big changes at the moment, which means that they are very sensitive to anything that could potential cause them a problem with future site use. The primary potential problem is as you would probably suspect noise.. We have been assured that at some point in the near future this will be completely resolved, but we appreciate that this doesn't really help those of you that have pre-paid for this event.

At this point Driftworks have invested massive money, and massive amounts of time to run a professional set of practice events through the year, and we have so far been allowed to run one of three events, this is not acceptable. It has caused us a loss of thousands of pounds, and even more importantly has messed you guys about, making us look unprofessional.

At this point, we are not willing to sit here patiently for the next day to be pulled and cause our reputation further damage. So until further notice, every Driftworks event at Drift Central is being pulled from the calander. This does not mean that we will never run an event there again. We certainly hope to, as it would be a real shame to lose such a fantastic venue. But we need guarantee's in place so as to not let you guys down again, as at this point we feeli like we should have gone by the rule of 'if something appears to be to good to be true, it often is'.

Anyone that has paid for the July 13th event or any other date in the calander will be refunded immediately.

We will keep you guys in the loop with the future of Drifting at Drift Central as best as we can. For now please accept our sincere appologies.

That sucks a lot of ball The place is fricking fantastic too.

Its a proper wounder when stuff like this happens, its like the powers that be (ie the donny people) dont take in to account the effect it has on others (ie DW)

Probably because one of locals might be able to hear us if they open their bathroom window and listen really hard!

yeah, to say we're gutted is an understatement

We really hope this can be resolved and if/when it does we'll be back there like a shot, but for now it just looks too uncertain and we're not happy with messing people around
We'll look around for other venues, it's just gutting when our chances of finding anything this well suited for drifting are so slim.

So it's fingers crossed I guess and we just have to sit back, hope and wait for now....

If there are any updates, we'll keep you all posted.

thanks for your patience with us in the meantime.

Didn't Drift Acadamy have the same problem?

I'm sure they got messed about loads when they were using the car parks at Donnington.

For the love of God......... This Bites the big one.

Sorry to hear bout this guys and gals of DW, its a shame, but knowing you lot, you have something bigger and better waiting in the wings

Dont worry about your reputation, we know its not your fault and in no way represents the service provided by DW.

Keep your chins up fellas

I spend quite a lot of time in Castle Donington, as the missus parents live there, and believe me, the drifting there couldn't be any louder than the BTCC/ or the MOTO stuff that happens on the track.

Edit: Saying that, her parents are quite well known in the community, organise the kids football etc etc, and know the organisers down there. I will have a word, see what the crack is.

boo!

Still it is out of your control. I am sure DW will have things running as smoothly as you always do once you can access the venue again.

I know the new owner of Donington is 'very' much into motorsport - he isnt just a business man with the right amount of cash - which is why it will be worth the wait as I'm sure anything that is taking place right now will only make the venue better and even more attractive.

Its so refreshing to see a circuit go under so much development - and not just get snapped up by a cash rich person whose only goal is to pull down the circuit and use the land for something else.

Maybe our new prime minister will sit up and pay attention to what is happening with Mr Lewis H. This country needs to invest more in motorsport RIGHT NOW!.

So glad I got to attend day #1 - James, Phil and the team made an awesome job of that day.
