What do you all use the skidpan or the track? Can knockhill not be used?

on a thrash day you use the 8val by the entry. knockhill are a bit funny about drifting when it's not top level stuff. they won't allow drifting on track on practice days and only allowed use of paddock 2 "the freestyle zone". paddock 2 is really limited tbh but still useful. Biggest problem other than that is the cost of knockhill.

We ( TLS - see sig ) ran a couple of invite only days at ingleston next to edinburgh airport. really good fun and everyone enjoyed it but they have now decided that we can only run one or two events a year there rather than the one every 2 months we'd hoped for

why would you want to hire the skid pan at knockhill? it's covered in oil and far too greasy for drifting.

last time i checked it was something like 20 car's at 60 quid to break even on hiring the paddock alone. there are a real limited number of venues willing to help in scotland

kierans spot on, crails great fun u can hone around all day but it gets limiting. theres only so many ways u can drift an 8val lol.

I still as much as pos cos some drift is better than no drift.

ur right tho, but i dont use that reason for being shit....YET!

We desperately need a new venue if the games gona raise its profile up here at all!!!!

If we could get list of people interested in a regular spot at Knockhill i'm sure the publicity it would bring to the circuit would be worth it.Get some media interest and involve TLS for tuition and advice etc (you guys worked well at Ingleston)
I figure you would need around 30 cars for it to work out at a reasonable cost of say £60 each and give maybe a morning session.
Just a thought.

lol at the ebisu!!! if only

yeah the propblem is though knockhill will not let anyone short of edc level drift the track. even edc level drivers at non edc events aren't allowed to drift in practice days. knockhill still don't really "get" drifting , even after all the support and effort of Glen and the team at d1gb/edc and terry collins from drift uk. There track manager still see's drifting , and their edc round 3 publicity even promoted it as , car's out of control.

until they understand what drifting really is i think the chance of regular practice days on the track are very very minimal

Very true. There is no chance of getting on track practice days at knockhill in the forseeable future. I have looked into this also and it's just not going to happen.

The problem is to drift the track at knockhill you need 100% commitment and this means if you get it even a wee bit wrong(which i did lots)then you get burried in the gravel and they have to dig you out.

BAsically we would make a big mess of the track and its not worth it for them!
