RB20/RB25/RB26 Wasted Spark Remote Coil Pack Kit

HI,

Just wanted to ask a couple of questions about RB20/RB25/RB26 Wasted Spark Remote Coil Pack Kit.

How easy is it to fit. Will i need to change the plugs as well. Will i need to get the car setup after. Also will i need to do any extra wiring or is it all plug and play.

Sorry about the beginner questions. Always had someone else doing my cars but i want to learn myself now.

Also i'm trying to find in the shop an R32 Engine stabilising bar but can't find it. Do you guys supply these.

Simple questions first. Don't need to change the plugs unless your old ones need replacing, don't need to get the car set up after.

It's not just plug and play, it requires removing the coil loom (6 coil pack plugs and 2 other plugs) from the car and stripping the insulation off, then following the wiring instructions. If you follow the instructions exactly as they're written then you won't have any problems at all, it's really simple and requires rewiring 7 wires. The 12v power feed for the coils, and 6 trigger wires for the coils.

We've not got any engine dampers I'm afraid. Sorry!

Speaking from experience, the DW remote coil pack kit is EASY to install, you just need to work slowly and methodically and follow the instructions.

It totally cured my inconsistent running on my RB20DET in my old R32 and was the best mod I did to it I think. And fantastic value for money (like a third of the cost of Splitfire coils!!). All RB engines NEED this mod sooner or later.

If you are not confident with soldering/wiring etc, I know someone in your area who will be able to do it for you for a fair price, but it is pretty simple really.

I'm hoping that it might cure my Mis-fire. It's getting quite bad and i've got a feeling it's a coil pack. Instead of replacing one this seems like the better option.

Ok i'll order some either later on tonight or tomorrow. 20vWill can you let me know how much they would charge. When i get them i'll have a look at doing it myself and see whether i think i'm capable. LMAO.

Is there a difference in installing this on a spec 1 setup to the spec 2 ? Mine i think is spec1, it has the extra plug right at the back of the engine i think this is the ignition amplifier or something ? Spec 1 ?

The 'box' is the ignition amp and yes it only came with spec 1 cars.

I know I'm biased, but my 470hp Chaser runs one of our kits to great success, as did my Skyline, as does James's Skyline.... I know which I would do, and did do when I put the Chaser together...
