Question about hydro handbrake lines - Drifting forum

Can I trim them to length and refit the brass fitting on the end? Or are the ends only suitable for being fitted once?

Reason is the rear line is literally 3 feet too long, and I'd quite like to trim it off and use the trimmed bit to plumb in my line lock by buying some new ends, if that's possible?

Hi Jeff,

Strictly speaking and 'officially' no, but you can do it, it is possible, I have done it.

Just be very very careful to ensure they're correctly reassembled to ensure a seal.

No but if you don't understand how the fittings work then I'd recommend not learning on your brakes.

I will probably just zip tie the excess in a big loop for now - I just wanted to know if it was possible

We have the excess cable tied in a loop on the skyline

local motor factors should have a pipe flaring tool you could get them to re do it
