Driftworks braided brake lines

I stuck on the braided lines today. (1999 200SX S14A)
Firstly I was very impressed with the quality and having the washers/ banjo bolts, etc. included.
The rear lines went on with no problems, a one to one swap for the originals.
But I have two questions about the fronts which were a bit of a pain in the ass:

The original brake line comes through the inner wing as a metal brake line, then into about 6 inches of rubber line and then back to a metal line fixed to the shock which then runs down to the caliper.
The Driftworks braided lines replace the metal line to the caliper and the rubber line- about 12inches in total. Why?
Surely it would be neater,less hassle and less likely for any expansion by leaving the original metal lines there, and only replace the rubber 6 inch section?

The braided line runs into the front caliper without any washer/ seal. Is this a good enough seal?


P.S. don't use an empty beer bottle as a recepticle for the brake fluid that you are bleeding.....as it can be knocked over easily!

Ok the reason for the full length is because of the number of customers we have building funky drift cars, with the full length lines you can use different calipers, or fit S14 calipers to an S13, etc. It just gives a whole lot more flexibility for all the different cars out there. In terms of flex/pedal response, you don't need to worry about that, as long as the line is secured along it's route there will be no difference between it and a hardline.

As for the seal on the caliper, it seals with a taper rather than a washer or anything, so that's just fine.
