Okay I have a gt3037s turbo that's leaking oil through the exhaust side. Can anyone point me into the right direction for a rebuild? I've been advised to use universal turbos so far. they're prices start at £350, Whether that's good or bad I'm not sure so want to do abit of fishing about before I go ahead with them

    Thanks

Being a BB turbo, they aren't likely to rebuild it, more likely to totally replace the CHRA, and that sure as hell won't be £350.

It deffo smoking, and not just been installed without a restrictor or whatever?

I've not heard of anyone being able to rebuild a BB turbo centre cartridge.
Most place just remove the covers, chuck the old CHRA in the bin and shove a new one inside.

It's so easy to do there's little point in sending the turbo away for it.

Yeah sooo easy for someone that's done it before I'm sure it is. I'm not risking messing anything up it's cost me enough already and I'm sending it off. That way it's done properly and I will have warranty.

I used turbo technics, came in at £300 inc vat but my turbo wasn't very bad, slight oil weep and ~1-2mm of side to side play. Required a new shaft and bearings I think.. Its a standard t28 from an s14a
