Gear oil option for 30 year old diff and gearbox ?

    Hoping someone can help, my manual for my 1984 KP61 Toyota Starlet tells me what oil to use, but doesn't mention the grade.

    I've put in EP80/90 and it seems a bit noisey.
    Was only a cheap euro cap parts 5ltr drum.

    Could someone please suggest a good make and a better grade ? Stock open diff 4.1 and stock 5 speed K50 gearbox.

    Manual says API - GL 5

    I use castrol b373, in my ae86 so does everyone else I know I have tried other oils but find it's the best to quite down whiney bearings etc

    Do you use it in the gearbox as well ?

    I bought "Fuchs Titan Race Gear 90 LS High Performance Gear And Limited Slip Diff Oil" for my 86s diff but it also has a TRD 2 Way in it.
    Went for "Fuchs Titan Race SYN 5 75W-90 Fully Synthetic Gear Oil" for the T50.

    Haven't done the fluid change yet but can give you some feedback once it's done :)

    Also any chance you corolla lads can point me in the direction on a gearbox to fit my 4age

    Have a look on AEU86.com buddy, they seem to pop up on the continent a fair bit.
