engine for my e46!!

    Hi, can you guys tell me what is te best engine for drifting with an e46 ? Is it the 325 like e36 and e30 ? Wich engine is good to receive a turbo setup ? Juste tell me what you think, thank you. (Sorry for my bad english)

    Either early 2.8 m52b28tu as they're still cable throttle on those , or if your not bothered about fly by wire throttle the 3.0 m54b30 engine as they are around 230 bhp standard i think

    Id say most 6 cylinder m52 and m54 engines are pretty tough to a certain degree, the strongest is the old m50b25 out of the e36 and e34 but id imagine theyre abit more difficult to fit being an older engine on different wiring

    The thing is in my country m50b25 vanos or not are rare or cost too much

    If you are looking to turbo I'd go for the M50 over the M52!

    M50 are steel blocks whereas M52 are ally, so the M50 will hold the power a lot better. The M52 ally blocks tend to blow gaskets a lot easier, I'm doing mine now, that's my 10p worth anyway from what I have found.
