Hey guys so I've just got a new shell for a project and I'm thinking engines. What do I want in it that I can get a decent amount of power on a limited budget so 1JZ, Rb25 ect are all out of the question so I was thinking a BMW 330ci 3L in line 6 and turbo charging it my question is if needed what injectors would fit and what fuel pump would I be able to use??

Cheers for any comments in advanced guys :)

It's a build as I go so I don't have much if any money sat waiting so it'l be when I get paid I'll collect parts. In between I'll be working on the shell... the guy thats selling me the shell has an rb20det so I may see If I can get a deal for that I'm mainly looking for advice on the fuel system for the 330. If you have any information on the RB20's I know very little about them.

In my opinion converting an NA Engine to turbo is going to cost more than doing an engine conversion!

If your on a budget and want power then there are lots of options in the UK..... How about a Saab or Volvo engine? Both have big potential!

The engine is going in a s13 shell anyway's so I have to do the conversion but the price of a good engine and box is crazy high at the moment.I can get a cheap 330 engine and do most of the work myself.... the only thing I can't do is build the manifold...

I did a google for you so here:

    E46 330i Turbo @ 0,7 bar. (10-12 PSI)

    Fuel: E85 Ethanol fuel conversion
    Injectors: 630 cc Siemens Deka
    Overboost by a Schwitzer s200
    Dyno test results: 425 hp & 572 Nm @ 0,7 bar.

Hi! The client has put together the kit by himself by using a schwitzer s200 turbo and 630 cc siemens deka injectors. I have done the remapping and the result was awesome. If you are intressted in such software we are offering customized unique chiptuning just email for more info - info@fekzen.se Rgds//A.Fekzen

Its a stronger differential, but I cant remember exacly which one the client used, could be the M3. Its not a modified original. And he used a flywheel from an E28 535i with a stronger clutch (Sinter) etc.

If an RB is out of budget then I'd put money a turbo'd 3 litre bimmer engine is also not possible.

    List of parts needed.

    Intercooler
    Arp head studs
    Cosmetic 0.140" metal head gasket
Timeserts for the threads in the block
Bosch 42lb injectors from the states
Turbo appropriately sized for bhp wanted
    Manifold (either zurawski £1500 or elite-d £600)
    Downpipe
    Walbro 255 fuel pump
Clutch should be ok for 400bhp/400ftlb
Oem ecu is fine and remappable, might need a 540i maf after 350ish bhp.

And probably some other bits I've forgotten.

Budget around 3kish to do it all on a sensible budget.

try get an RB25 box, the RB20 box is the same as an SR20 and not so strong when kicking its head in, RB25DET box should bolt straight on
