I think im going to have to replace my top mount manifold due to cracking. I have looked into 6boost and Walton fabrication a little but £1000+ is a lot.

I have also been pointed in the direction of LeadFoot racing manifolds and a new Zealand companies manifold here: -

BRAND NEW RB20 / RB25 MILD STEEL TURBO MANIFOLD - Hybrid Performance

Has anyone had experiences with any of these of know of any others I should also be considering?

Have you not though about just having yours strengthen? Would be a dam site cheaper then buying a new one? Also fit a brace of some sort from the manifold flange to the turbo flange to stop movement?

    Thanks for the info.

Mine has cracked so I got the guys at work to TIG it up (aerospace company). It was a hard to reach area so after grit blasting it I got someone to carry out a dyepen test and it showed a number of defects in various places so I'm at a cross roads.

If all had gone well I was going to get it braced, they already said I should.

Put some braces on it a completely wrap it with exhaust tape or have it ceramic coated which will hinder any future problems hopefully, or buy a cheap one from eBay that looks good and have that braced and wrapped. I got a rb26det manifold for my rb25 and welded on lugs for the middle bolts as they are a different stud pattern. But was cheap so didn't mind.

I thought wrapping them makes them more prone to crack...

Don't bother with the hybrid performance, terrible fitment and mine cracked once I got it to fit.
Ended up buying a 6 boost and it's well worth the money

Should stop it as the exhaust tape is wrapped tight enough to stop these issues keeps them straighter and stops hot spots as the whole surface will get the same heat,

    Give sinco customs a shout.
Guy I chatted to runs one in his rb25 r33 and he raves about them. The sound out off it is incredible too!lol

Thanks for the info knowlesy. That one is off my list. I know 6boost is probably the highest regarded but its almost the most expensive. In this instance it really is you get what you pay for but I want to check all avenues before having to pay out £1100 +

I had a hybrid performance manifold custom made, T3 Twin scroll and cant fault it, Paid a bit more than the standard one All surfaces machined flat, Twin wastegate pipe into one, Nice welding and fitment is spot on for my HX35. Mabye produces some poor ones but worth messaging him.

wrapping will definitely lead to premature cracking

I'm wondering why the mild steel manifolds are so expensive? A 1000 pounds. Material is super cheap, machining is easy (means cheap), welding doesn't require back purging. No surface finishing needed except ceramic coating, which is not expensive (?).

At last check they were around the NZ$1k mark, so ~500GBP.

Just email them, they are really good to deal with.
