Vaguely remember reading that Starlet or similar turbo's fit....Might be worth looking into. Think they're steel lined too.

Have you contacted midland turbos, they are highly recommended, ask for Liam.

CT12a are 1JZ turbos, CT12b are 2JZ turbos. The starlet uses a CT9 I think, and the CT12a is an upgrade.

Look for CR turbos, they have lots of experience with JZ turbos.

Yep CT9a and b are starlet turbos, but they are too small for a JZ id have thought.

you can buy a rebuild kit for the turbos for 70-80 euro per turbo and buy a steel inconel shaft for another 200-250 euro for the two turbos

Cheers swampy Ye cr are who did the ones on my old tt soarer before I bought it. Wonder if it's still £350 per turbo? Only thing is tho now I've lined up a mate to help me take them off which is good, but he really needs it on and off his drive in one day, meaning.....do I buy second hand ones and chuck em on see what happens,,,, or number two, buy sh ones, get em rebuilt, then do the job, but run the risk of buying crap ones, when I know mine do boost very well. No doubt they'll be a different price if they need to do the cores as well no?
Also, the pcv valve is £40 new. Mays well chunk out £40 eh and see if I get lucky if it stops the smoke?

Ok so when swapping over turbos, what do I need in the way of gaskets etc. Never done it before. This will be the biggest car job I've ever done! What bolts will likely snap that I should maybe buy as back up?

Removing the stock twins is not a fun job period.
Ive never refitted them as went single on my 1jz however just be prepared for possible manifold gasket, turbo to manifold gasket, the oil feed lines may split as they are hard lines so could be a good idea to upgrade to braided lines, i'd also replace the manifold studs/nuts whilst you have it off, good luck!

If you are going to change the turbos, I'd be tempted to put a new dump pipe on as it will improve the bottom end response. You will need a restrictor plate though which are available from whifbits cheaply.

    Anything better?
Cheers, although for now I wanna just run standard, and will either go single, or have my original turbos rebuilt in steel, then possibly get a new dump pipe. Where would I get a decent one tho?

I need some braided turbo oil feeds cos the metal ones are fuckers and don't wanna line back up. What are my options?
Also down pipe shagged so need one of them and probably a decat pipe cos the flange are rice-aronied on that too

I have a spare 1JZ downpipe lying around if you need it. What is wrong with the one you have? I also have a Soarer cat. Let me know if you need them.
