Hi guys ive just bought an e36 325i 1991 m50 non vanoss engine todays job was fitted coilovers all round and welded the diff!! been out in it tonight to give it a try gave it some serious abuse and clutch slips when i kick it in second and ive got back and the smell coming from the clutch was so bad it made me feel sick!!! What clutch setup are you guys running thats suitable for serious abuse on stock power with welded diff??
Theres a few kits on ebay like this which come with a single mass are these any good or will they be chocolate
89000 unknown miles. Might of had a replacment with a cheap shit item. A luk clutch kit will be suffice. If you want rid of dual mass either machine an m20 flywheel and get a m20 clutch with e21 release bearing. Or buy an aftermarket one for the engine.
Good quality oem clutch is more than adequate for standard power, LUK or Valeo and you should be all good
I got a quote from a bmw performance specialist today who have told me standard clutch wont last in a car used primarily for drifting/clutch kicking so ordering up the cg motorsport kit
Im thinking of getting this flywheel: COMPETITION CLUTCH BMW E36 M3 95-99 LIGHT WEIGHT FLYWHEEL S50/S52 M50/M52 Z1452 | eBay and getting a m3 clutch off eurocarparts for less than £200 just dont know what that flywheel will be like
It looks identical to the one in driftworks shop to be honest, think I may bite the bullet and get one, competition clutches seems a reputable brand so can't see it being too bad?
Im going to the pod nxt wed for a days drifting ill see how the clutch holds up there again i am a beginner and the slipping and smell quite likely also could be bad tecnique
