I have a spare CA18DET block I'm going to use for a rebuild but I've noticed the coolant/oil holes in the face of the block look like they've corroded and worn away slightly. Has anyone had or seen this issue? Is it a common problem or is that how the holes are supposed to look? Will this cause any issues with the sealing of the head gasket?

Not the worst, but not ideal, especially if you're going to be using an MLS head gasket,

Get it decked, get the engineer to record the amount removed, and to maintain stock compression ratio, correct the amount removed via h/g thickness, or check your compression height before and after
