| fia seats as you will see there have been a few changes to the regs.... some have been relaxed ![]() there had been complaints that having to buy two fia seat was expensive and over the top for a new drifter .... well now althouhg you have to have a pasenger seat it can be the standard one .... .... but if you want to take passengers on the track they have to have a fia seat and full harness |

| Is there any scope for allowing good passenger side recliners with an FIA harness? The seats are still made to a high standard with fireproof foam and such. Passenger side bucket seats are great if you always have the same passenger, but if you want to do passenger rides on a regular basis, it helps to not have to say 'sorry you're a bit fat' ![]() |

| this one would have to be looked at individually - fia seats are a known standard but others may vary so when the cars scrutineered the seat can be looked at-but it would definately have to be a harness rather than a belt. ![]() |

| Baba i'm sure I read that they had to be FIA but could be out of date, think it was on the EDC website but its down at the mo Taken from D1gb website Vehicles must have FIA approved racing seats ( driver and passenger ) which do not have to be in date but must be in good condition. i.e not showing any signs of stress, cracks or damage to the structure of the seat. really?I was under the opinion that seats would be submitted for testing to an approved test house for the FIA and that the test result (if positive) would then mean that that model of seat is approved and therefore that model of seat can have a fia approval label fixed to it not the indvidual seat tested - reading the test details which are freely available for anyone to read ( but they are pretty tedious )the testing soulds like its bordering on destructive so the tested seat would probably be weakened anywayI was not aware that individual seats could be submitted- but if this is the case i would be very interested to get details on how it can be done. Generally the accepted guide to deciding if a seats approved is to look for a label that would give the fia approval number , manufacturer , seat model , serial number and build date. without this the seat is not approved....or am I wrong? ![]() | |
