Swirl Pot & External Fuel Pump

I have a swirl pot and external fuel pump arrangement on my R33, in the regs it talks about a bulkhead needed to seperate them from the passenger compartment

Is this OK?

Cheers

My understanding is, that as long as there is a fire wall between the passanger compartment and the fuel tank/swirl pot etc etc. Then it's okey

What you have there should be good i think?

It'll need to be completely sealed otherwise theres no point having anything there. So you'll need to cover up the holes around the wheel arches and across the top of the "parcelshelf" and make sure that any panels fitted are adequately sealed off.

thats it - the holes in the bulkhead need to be sealed - the idea is that if there is a fuel leak or a fire in the boot then the fumes/flames do not easily get through the bulkhead into the drivers area

This is how I've done it on my GTS: The aluminium panels will be riveted/bolted in and sealed.

That's pretty much what I'm going to have to do to mine, did you make a mock up out of cardboard or something then trim the aluminium down to a perfect fit after?

Yeh, it was made doubly tricky because of the cage going through the firewall in a V. So I decided I'd weld in 4 panels into the sides (2 each side, one either side of the tubes). I made cardboard templates then transferred them to sheet metal and tweaked them. For the top of the parcel shelf I rough cut a sheet of ally, folded the front edge down in a big sheet metal bender and split the middle of the fold vertically to allow me to flex the panel slightly to get it in and for it to be snug enough between the pillars. I just used a flap wheel in a grinder to clean up the rear edge where it meets the rear screen so it actually butts up flush to the rear window now.
