Media

Hi,

There are many things in the pipeline for this year which build on the foundations from 2006, i.e. our Championship was the most covered in the media of any Drift championship (D1GB) in fact of any Drift related articles, this is due to our efforts behind the scenes to ensure that the events, teams and drivers are publicised correctly and as much as possible. No other Drift events gain as much publicity as ours and we are continuing to build on that this year without question. We also have a driver promotional plan for this year to help promote the drivers individually which will be on offer to those drivers who have a licence or gain one this year. The EDC will be helping drivers who participate in the Championship as we did last year, and some.

As for TV, it is being worked on but we cannot annouce anything at the moment as its not confirmed

As for more info on the Championship, www.europeandriftchampionship.eu what more do you need, have you read the site? If you are a competitor and will enter ( i.e. you have a licence or will defo gain one as you are as good as the Top 16 from last year ) and you are missing something, email us : info@europeandriftchampionship.eu and we will try to help you.

If you are a driver and will/intend to enter, please ask us questions you dont know the answers to by email and we will reply (ask Maz).

If you are a fan of the drivers/wont be entering, please view the information on our site or wait for updates here on DW

Thanks

I know competitions are competitive and i too have sponsors who want to get a return on there investment in me and my car. However, shouldn't the main reason for entering a competition is t compete, win and have fun at the same time?

If im lucky enough to get an EDC licence i will have the opertunity to drive with and against some of the most tallented drivers european and even international drifting.

I don't know about other people, but any sponsorship or media agreements i have will be based on the coverage of last years series. Anything else EDC manage to pull out of the bag is a bonus for all of us.

Roll on April

agree with Mr Bizzle, it's about the competition and the experiance, maybe im not in the same boat with sponsers etc (as i have none lol maybe its a bad thing) but as was said there is goin to be plenty of interest from around the UK and Europe motoring scene like the seasons before and with the championship even going to take in europe it's going to attract a wider following.

Thanks to everyone who has sent in their forms. If you know any drivers who intend on entering, please do inform or remind them to fill their forms out. ALL drivers must complete this form to compete this year including drivers who already have licenses from last year.

how many licenses do ye intend on giving out ??
with there being 35 holders already would it make sense to give out a load more ,!!
just queing could be a problem with 50 cars!!! eg!!donington was a disaster last year

There won't be 50 cars there... We are not giving a set number of licenses, just ones to those people who we feel are good enough.

Don't forget guys, these licenses arn't purely on driving skill either. A professional atitude and action off the track is just as important.

Information on Licensing and Round 1 will be sent out to all competitors within the next 2 days who sent in there forms.

We are not awarding a fixed number of Licenses over and above the drivers who already have them.

So far I think we have around 20+ confirmed License holders for Round 1 but as mentioned this has no bearing whatsoever on the amount of new Licenses to be awarded.

We have already done the maths on the amount of drivers we can comfortably work with over the two days so don't concern yourself with worrying about tracktime, you will have enough track time to practice and set the car up but remember this isn't a practice day it's competition, so if you feel you need more practice then book up with one of the days available with other Drift orientated business's as when you enter our events you come to compete.
